General Purpose
The Instructional Designer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining engaging, scalable learning solutions that build employee capabilities, improve performance, and support TPx’s business objectives. This role applies instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles to translate complex business needs and subject matter into effective, learner-centered experiences.
With a strong emphasis on e-learning development, the Instructional Designer will create high-quality, interactive digital learning using Articulate Storyline as the primary authoring tool. This role partners closely with business stakeholders, subject matter experts (SMEs), Learning Consultants, and team leaders to assess learning needs and develop solutions across multiple delivery methods.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Instructional Design & Development
- Design, develop, and maintain engaging learning experiences using established instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles.
- Develop interactive, high-quality e-learning modules primarily using Articulate Storyline.
- Translate complex concepts, processes, and technical information into clear, practical, and learner-centered content.
- Create learning solutions across multiple delivery methods, including e-learning, instructor-led and virtual instructor-led training, job aids, reference materials, videos, and other performance-support resources.
- Develop storyboards, learning objectives, assessments, scenarios, interactions, and other instructional components aligned with desired performance outcomes.
- Apply visual design, usability, and accessibility principles to create intuitive and engaging learning experiences.
- Maintain and update existing learning content to ensure accuracy, relevance, consistency, and alignment with evolving business needs.
Learning Consultation & Collaboration
- Partner with Learning Consultants, business stakeholders, SMEs,
and team leaders to identify learning and performance needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Facilitate content-development discussions with SMEs and translate subject matter expertise into structured, effective learning experiences.
- Ask thoughtful questions to distinguish learning needs from broader process, communication, or performance issues.
- Conducts learning needs analyses and recommends both learning and non-learning solutions.
- Manage stakeholder feedback and incorporate revisions while maintaining instructional integrity and the learner experience.
- Build strong working relationships across functions and serve as a trusted partner throughout the design and development process.
Project Management & Quality
- Manage multiple learning projects simultaneously from initial concept through development, implementation, and maintenance.
- Establish project timelines, communicate progress, identify risks, and ensure deliverables are completed on time and meet quality standards.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews and testing of learning materials before deployment.
- Maintain organized source files, templates, and learning assets to support scalability and efficient content maintenance.
- Ensure learning solutions align with established Learning & Development standards, branding, and best practices.
Measurement & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with stakeholders and Learning Consultants to identify appropriate measures of learning effectiveness and business impact.
- Use learner feedback, assessment results, performance data, and stakeholder input to evaluate and continuously improve learning solutions.
- Stay current on instructional design trends, adult learning practices, e-learning technologies, and emerging approaches to workplace learning.
- Recommend new tools, techniques, and design approaches that improve the effectiveness, scalability, and learner experience of TPx learning programs.
Other Responsibilities:

- Minimal (less than 5%) travel required.
Required Qualifications: Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Education, Organizational Development, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience designing and developing learning solutions in a corporate environment.
- Demonstrated professional experience designing and developing corporate learning solutions.
- Experience developing storyboards, learning objectives, assessments, scenarios, simulations, and performance-support materials.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Solid knowledge of instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles and the ability to apply them in a business environment.
- Advanced proficiency with Articulate Storyline,
including the ability to independently develop interactive and engaging e-learning experiences.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify and organize complex information.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with SMEs, stakeholders, and leaders at various levels of an organization.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality learning experiences.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive learning design practices.
Other Qualifications:
- Experience with additional Articulate 360 tools, including Rise.
- Experience working with learning management systems (LMS) and publishing e-learning content using standards such as SCORM or xAPI.
- Experience designing learning for geographically dispersed or remote employee populations.
- Experience with multimedia development, including basic audio, video, or graphics editing.
- Experience measuring learning effectiveness and connecting learning outcomes to employee or business performance.
