Job Title: Senior Consultant, University Admissions & Guidance
Department: Career Counselling & University Guidance
Location – Noida/Gurgaon/Bangalore
Job Purpose
Global Schools Group (GSG) is seeking an experienced University Admissions & Guidance professional to join its Central Career Counselling & University Guidance team.The role will support GSG schools and brands across geographies in strengthening university admissions counselling and delivering consistent, high-quality guidance to students aspiring to leading universities globally. Working closely with school-based university guidance counsellors, leadership, students and parents and external specialists, the incumbent will provide expert guidance on undergraduate admissions while building capability, standardising best practices and tracking university placement outcomes across the Group.
Key Responsibilities
University Admissions Guidance
- Provide expert guidance to students through the undergraduate university application process across key destinations including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Europe and other global markets.
- Support students in identifying and shortlisting appropriate universities, courses and countries based on academic profile, interests, aspirations, preferences and financial considerations.
- Guide students in developing high-quality essays, Statements of Purpose (SOPs), personal statements and other application components.
- Support students with university interview preparation, where applicable.
- Ensure applications are planned, reviewed and submitted accurately and within prescribed university deadlines.
- Support zonal and school teams in delivering one-to-one university admissions counselling for students in Grades 11–12, including appropriate engagement with parents.
Central Governance & Capability Building
- Establish and drive Group-wide best practices and standards for university admissions counselling across GSG schools.
- Train, coach and mentor University Guidance Counsellors across campuses to strengthen counselling quality and admissions expertise.
- Develop frameworks, resources, toolkits and reference materials that can be consistently deployed across GSG schools.
- Train and guide teachers on writing effective and impactful Letters of Recommendation (LORs).
- Conduct workshops, webinars and information sessions for students, parents,
counsellors and relevant school teams on university admissions processes, application strategies, courses and destination-specific requirements.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing across schools and regions to build a strong GSG-wide university guidance ecosystem.
University Placement Outcomes & Reporting
- Partner with zonal leads and school teams to plan, track and report university admission and placement outcomes across GSG schools.
- Track student offers, acceptances, scholarships and admissions into leading universities globally.
- Maintain visibility of key admissions milestones and outcomes through structured data and reporting.
- Identify and document student success stories and testimonials, particularly admissions into leading global universities.
- Analyse admission trends and outcomes to identify opportunities for improving counselling effectiveness across the Group.
Alumni & External Partner Engagement
- Build and strengthen engagement with the GSG student alumni network to support career guidance, mentoring and university admissions initiatives.
- Develop opportunities for alumni to interact with current students through mentoring, university experience sessions and application guidance.
- Identify, engage and manage external essay editors, admissions consultants and specialist partners, where required, to support university applications at scale.
- Ensure external partners operate in line with GSG's expected quality and service standards.
Admissions Intelligence & Knowledge Management
- Stay abreast of developments in global undergraduate admissions, including changes in admission requirements, testing, application processes, timelines and university policies.
- Track relevant developments across leading universities and key study destinations.
- Share timely and relevant admissions updates, insights and best practices with counsellors, zonal leads and other internal stakeholders across GSG.
- Build and maintain a central repository of admissions resources, university information,
application guidance and best-practice materials for use across the Group.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a recognised institution with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks.
- A Master's degree, particularly from a recognised institution in the UK, US, Canada or Australia, would be an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in undergraduate university admissions consulting, university guidance or college counselling.
- Solid demonstrated experience supporting students applying to leading global universities, including QS Top 30 institutions.
- Demonstrable track record of successfully guiding students through competitive undergraduate admissions processes.
- Prior experience training, mentoring or coaching university guidance counsellors is preferred.
- Experience working across multiple schools, campuses, geographies or within a central/group education function would be an advantage.
Knowledge & Skills
- In-depth knowledge of undergraduate admissions processes across leading global universities and study destinations.
- Strong understanding of application requirements and processes across major university systems, particularly the US, UK, Canada and Australia.
- Excellent English written communication skills, with demonstrated expertise in reviewing and guiding essays, SOPs, personal statements and Letters of Recommendation.
- Strong counselling, coaching and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, counsellors, teachers and senior stakeholders.
- Strong facilitation and training capability, with the ability to build counselling capability across geographically dispersed teams.
- Strong planning, stakeholder management and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-campus and multicultural environment.
- Strong analytical and reporting orientation with the ability to track student outcomes and translate data into actionable insights.
Key Success Measures Success in this role will be measured through the quality and consistency of university guidance across GSG schools, counsellor capability development, timely and successful completion of student applications, university placement outcomes, admissions into leading global institutions, quality of central resources and effective collaboration across schools and regions.
