Master’s degree with 5–8 years of relevant industry experience in bioinformatics and genomics

Role Description The Senior Bioinformatician will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of bioinformatics pipelines, with a focus on sequencing data and statistical analysis. Day-to-day responsibilities include processing and analyzing large-scale DNA sequencing datasets, developing algorithms and workflows, and interpreting results to support research and product initiatives. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, documenting methodologies, and presenting findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Bioinformatician will also mentor junior team members, contribute to project planning, and ensure data quality and reproducibility. This is a full time, on-site role based in Pune City, with compensation up to 15 LPA depending on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications





- Strong foundation in Statistics and Data Analysis, including experience with large biological datasets.
- Hands-on experience with Sequencing and DNA Sequencing workflows, tools, and platforms.
- Proven background in Research, including experimental design, hypothesis testing, and scientific reporting.
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in bioinformatics (such as Python, R, or similar) and familiarity with Linux/Unix environments.
- Experience with bioinformatics libraries, databases, and tools (e.g., NGS analysis tools, alignment software, variant calling pipelines).
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, Biotechnology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for documenting methods and presenting results.
- Experience in leading projects or mentoring team members in bioinformatics or related domains is preferred.
