Role: Senior Backend Engineer Python | SQL | DevOps/Cloud

Location: Pune/Hyderabad

Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Python, SQL, and DevOps/Cloud technologies to design, develop, and support scalable backend services and cloud-based deployments.

The role combines backend engineering, API development, data processing, system design, and cloud-native DevOps practices. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working across the software development lifecycle, from coding and debugging to CI/CD, infrastructure automation, monitoring, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Python.
- Build effective data-processing solutions and work with advanced SQL queries, optimization, and data modelling.
- Develop and integrate REST APIs and microservices with secure and scalable architectures.
- Design and implement cloud-native solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, and deployment.
- Containerize applications using Docker and support container orchestration using Kubernetes.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or equivalent technologies.
- Monitor application and infrastructure performance and ensure availability, scalability, reliability, and observability.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes.
- Follow secure software development and deployment practices.
- Collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, architects, and business stakeholders.
- Participate in system design discussions, technical reviews, and architecture decisions.
- Debug existing codebases and enhance applications with new functionality.

Required Skills & Experience

- Strong hands-on experience with Python for backend development and scripting.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, including complex queries,



query optimization, and basic data modelling.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong understanding of DevOps and CI/CD practices.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience developing REST APIs and backend services.
- Understanding of production environments, application reliability, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of system design principles, including scalability, availability, security, and performance.
- Experience working with version control systems such as Git.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

Good-to-Have Skills

- Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
- Microservices architecture
- Monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or equivalent.
- Experience with cloud-native security and automated release strategies.
- Exposure to messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Pub/Sub.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

Experience

- 8+ years of experience in backend/software engineering.
- Strong experience in Python, SQL, Cloud, and DevOps.
- Experience with system design and production-grade application development.
