Role Description: THiNC Institute of Design is looking for a Senior Admission Counsellor to join our Calicut team. The role is focused on guiding students and parents through their academic and entrance-preparation journey and converting genuine enquiries into suitable enrolments through informed, consultative counselling.
The Senior Admission Counsellor will act as a key point of contact for prospective students and their parents, understanding their academic interests, career aspirations and entrance-exam requirements, and recommending relevant THiNC programmes accordingly.
- The role requires a combination of student counselling, relationship management, lead conversion, follow-up discipline and admissions coordination, along with the ability to work closely with the Branch Head, Academic Team and Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Counsel students and parents regarding design, architecture and related entrance examinations, including NID-DAT, UCEED, NIFT, NATA and JEE Paper 2/B.Arch pathways.
- Understand the student’s academic background, interests, career goals and entrance-exam requirements before recommending appropriate programmes.
- Handle inbound enquiries, walk-ins, calls, WhatsApp enquiries and assigned leads in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct structured admission counselling sessions and explain THiNC’s programmes, course structure, academic approach, schedules, fees and institutional pathways.
- Maintain consistent and systematic lead follow-ups through calls, messages and other approved communication channels.
- Manage the complete admission journey from initial enquiry to counselling, follow-up and enrolment.
- Maintain accurate and updated lead, counselling and admission records in the prescribed CRM/admission system and reporting formats.
- Work towards assigned admission and conversion targets while maintaining ethical, transparent and student-centric counselling practices.
- Coordinate with faculty and academic teams to ensure that information provided to students and parents is accurate and aligned with current academic offerings.
- Support branch-level admission activities, seminars, career guidance sessions, school/college outreach programmes, exhibitions and promotional events when required.
- Identify high-potential leads and ensure timely escalation or coordination with the Branch Head/Management wherever required.
- Maintain professional relationships with students, parents and prospects throughout the counselling and admission process.
- Monitor lead status, follow-up requirements, conversion progress and pending admissions and provide regular updates to the reporting manager.
- Contribute to improving the branch's overall student experience, admission pipeline and enrolment performance.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to confidently interact with students, parents and other stakeholders.
- Strong counselling and consultative selling skills, with the ability to understand requirements rather than relying on aggressive sales approaches.
- Good customer relationship management and follow-up skills.
- Ability to explain academic programmes, entrance examinations and career pathways in a clear and convincing manner.
- Strong persuasion, negotiation and objection-handling abilities.
- A target-oriented and result-focused approach, while maintaining professionalism and ethical standards.
- Valuable organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple leads simultaneously.
- Comfortable working with CRM/admission systems, WhatsApp, spreadsheets and other digital tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Branch Head, Academic Team, Faculty and Management.
- Willingness to participate in branch-level outreach and admission activities when required.
Educational Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Management, Education, Psychology, Commerce, Arts or any relevant discipline is preferred.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in admissions, educational counselling, student recruitment, inside sales or related roles is preferred.
- Experience in educational institutions, entrance coaching, training institutes, higher education or student counselling will be an advantage.
- Candidates with demonstrated experience in handling admission leads, counselling sessions and conversion targets will be preferred.
