Purpose of the Role To primarily drive the execution of Advisory assignments / preparing knowledge reports for Corporate and Government clients and to bring depth, context, and credibility to the engagements in the identified sectors with actionable research and insights to enable outreach and engagement with clients as also to support the business development efforts

Responsibilities
- Core Responsibilities
- Drive proactive policy engagement with municipal corporations, state climate agencies, and nodal government bodies (e.g., BEE, MoEFCCC) to support formulation of new methodologies/ projects, facilitate the adoption of best practices and alignment with NDCs
- Development of a Decarbonization and Carbon Markets advisory offerings, and areas of opportunity so as to act as a bridge between evolving government climate mandates and MSME clients.
- Source advisory mandates and execute seamlessly in advising MSMEs and corporate clients on complex climate-impact related business barriers, (such as CBAM) in export markets and impending domestic climate rules /carbon markets
- Work on Policy-to-Action frameworks such as translating policy landscapes and national climate targets into actionable business strategies for clients, and opportunities for transition / green finance.
- Technical Excellence &
- Oversight support for MSMEs in emission measurement / reduction requirements, including best practices, aligning CCTS opportunities, GHG accounting, and carbon market readiness, and developing these into comprehensive business advisory solutions.
- Build an intelligence and advocacy network with industry associations, verification agencies, and market integrity bodies, institutions in the climate finance / blended finance ecosystem and sources of such capital, and provide clients with insights on shifts in rules and market developments.
- Knowledge champion to compile data analyzed into a specific sector to generate insightful,
actionable knowledge aligned to clients’ areas of interest and business strategy and to lead sectoral initiatives and develop sector-specific insights, reports, event partnerships, policy advocacy and similar thought leadership
- Build own capabilities for deeper understanding of other sectors of focus for the team.
- Work independently to originate and execute advisory mandates, collaborating closely with internal coverage, transaction banking, and product teams for them to explore other business opportunities

Essential Competencies
Domain Expertise
- 5–10 years of experience in climate policy, carbon markets, GHG accounting, or decarbonization strategy, with deep knowledge of GHG Protocol, and preferably of other protocol such as CCTS methodologies, and global reporting frameworks.
- Proven ability to translate complex governmental NDCs and climate mandates into practical business strategies, specifically tailored to the operational realities of MSMEs and corporate clients.
- Technical Advisory Skills: Hands-on expertise in emissions quantification, baseline setting, and MRV (Measurement, Reporting, and Verification) workflows.
- Business Acumen: Strong understanding of the intersection between climate risk and corporate business objectives, including non-tariff trade barriers and export market dynamics.
- Past experience of offering support clients in preparing for both mandatory and voluntary carbon disclosures, including scope‑wise emissions assessment, activity data validation, EF application, uncertainty evaluation, and verification preparation. Experience advising corporates on emissions computation,
mitigation pathways, climate risk, or transition planning.
- Stakeholder Navigation: Demonstrated experience in building and managing high-level relationships with industry associations and preferable experience with municipal/state-level government bodies, Nodal authorities.
- Scalable Advisory Design: Ability to develop and maintain inhouse advisory tools, calculation templates, and playbooks to enable scalable service delivery across diverse sectors.

- Influence: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the capacity to influence senior stakeholders and provide clear, strategic guidance to clients navigating the climate transition.
- Execution Focus: Proven capability to operate with high independence, managing multiple advisory assignments under tight deadlines with extreme attention to detail and data integrity.
- Preferable hands‑on exposure to emissions quantification, emission factor (EF) selection, baseline formula application, MRV workflows, and corporate GHG inventory building and emissions baselining, aligned with Indian regulatory requirements, CCTS methodologies, and global standards (GHG Protocol).
- Deep understand of approaches to Net-Zero framework and goals.
- Ability to building working relationships with clients and work under tight deadlines
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and teamwork
- Computing skills –
- Advanced skills in MS Office, Excel, Power point and use of consulting related tools, databases
- Highly customer focused, with high level of integrity and attention to detail
- Willingness to travel when required
- Ability and interest to build working relationships with business and basic knowledge of Banking products for corporates and governments is preferable
SECTION VI: ROLE PROFILE REQUIREMENTS
Education Essential: MBA/Equivalent from a Tier I institute, with 8-10 years experience and exception can be made for highly meritorious candidates with relevant experience or certifications Preferred: Economics / Engineering /Environmental Science background
