- Operate existing CBCMT equipment for external/industrial samples, following standard operating procedures for sample preparation, data acquisition, and reporting.
- Explain and demonstrate how to operate instruments to students, faculty, and external users.
- Maintain records on instrument usage, service repairs, AMC schedules, and maintenance manuals.
- Own the AMC calendar for all CBCMT equipment, coordinating with vendors for preventive maintenance, calibration, repairs, and service visits.
- Track AMC renewals, service reports, warranty timelines, and equipment downtime.
- Monitor daily lab safety compliance (PPE, waste segregation, chemical handling, biosafety) and enforce lab discipline among students and researchers.
- Conduct safety inductions for current students and researchers, and report violations to the Centre Director.
- Maintain safety records, MSDS files, and incident reports.
- Maintain equipment logbooks, calibration records, and service history.
- Support laboratory operations, inventory management,
and procurement requests by providing technical specifications and consumption data to the Scientific Officer.
- Assist in routine laboratory techniques only as directed by the Centre Director and where hands-on support is needed.
- Overall responsibility to maintain and service equipment to operational standards, and to escalate unresolved issues to the Centre Director and faculty members.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- Master's degree in one of the following disciplines:
- Biotechnology
- Biomedical Science
- Biochemistry
- Microbiology
- Molecular Biology
- Life Sciences
- Biomedical Sciences
- Nanotechnology
- Tissue Engineering or related fields.
Preferred
- M. Sc./ M. Tech with 1–3 years of research laboratory experience.
Experience of mammalian cell culture.
- Experience working in academic, biomedical, pharmaceutical, or translational research laboratories.
