Role Overview The SAP Delivery Manager / Program Director is responsible for end-to-end ownership of SAP program and portfolio delivery across client engagements. This is a delivery-first leadership role with full accountability for execution quality, financial performance, customer satisfaction, and team leadership.

In addition to delivery ownership, the role will contribute to competency building and CoE initiatives to strengthen delivery standardization, scalability, and capability maturity. The role requires proven experience managing large, global SAP delivery organizations of 200+ consultants.

Delivery & Program Management (Primary Responsibility)

- Own delivery of large SAP programs, multi-project portfolios, and long-term AMS engagements.
- Manage and lead 200+ SAP consultants across functional, technical, and AMS teams.
- Ensure adherence to scope, timelines, cost, and quality commitments across engagements.
- Establish and govern program cadence including steering committees, financial reviews, and risk management.
- Drive successful delivery across SAP S/4HANA Greenfield, Brownfield, GROW with SAP, RISE with SAP, and AMS models.

Delivery Governance, Quality & Assurance
- Define and enforce delivery governance frameworks, quality gates, and assurance checkpoints.
- Lead program-level risk, dependency, and escalation management.
- Ensure compliance with SAP Activate, Agile, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Act as final escalation authority for delivery, quality, and people-related issues.

Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as primary delivery partner to client sponsors, CIOs, and program leadership.
- Manage executive communication, expectation setting, and conflict resolution.




- Drive customer satisfaction, renewal readiness, and long-term account stability.

AMS, Run & Brownfield Leadership
- Lead SAP AMS engagements including transition from projects to run operations.
- Define AMS operating models, SLAs, KPIs, and continuous improvement frameworks.
- Drive Brownfield optimization programs, upgrades, and landscape simplification initiatives.
- Ensure stable, cost-effective, and predictable run-state delivery.

Competency Building & CoE Contributions (Secondary Responsibility)
- Drive delivery-focused CoE initiatives to improve standardization and reuse.
- Support creation of delivery playbooks, estimation models, and staffing strategies.
- Mentor Delivery Managers, Project Managers, and senior delivery leads.
- Partner with HR on capacity planning, leadership readiness, and succession.

Pre-Sales & Account Support
- Support sales and account teams from a delivery feasibility and risk perspective.
- Review solution approaches, staffing plans, commercials, and delivery assumptions.
- Participate selectively in pursuits requiring program governance credibility.

Key Skills and Experience
- 12–16 relevant years of overall SAP experience.
- Minimum last 8–12 years in SAP Delivery Management or Program Leadership roles.




- Proven experience managing 200+ resources across global delivery models.
- Robust exposure to Manufacturing, Retail, Logistics, Energy, or Asset-intensive industries.
- Minimum 6–8 years of hands-on experience as a Functional SAP Consultant prior to or alongside delivery / program management roles.
- Strong functional depth in at least one SAP workstream, such as: SAP FICO, MM, SD, PP / QM, PM or other core logistics modules
- Proven experience in business process design, SAP configuration, testing, and business user enablement.
- Ability to challenge solution designs, delivery approaches, and estimates with functional credibility.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end SAP business processes, including: Record-to-Report (R2R), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Order-to-Cash (O2C), Make-to-Stock / Make-to-Order
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders, functional architects, and technical teams, not only managing from a PMO layer.
- Functional consulting background is mandatory to ensure informed decision-making, delivery assurance, and client confidence.

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, IT, or related technical field.

Certifications

- Must Have: PMP / PgMP / PRINCE2 / SAFe or equivalent delivery certification.
- Good to Have: RISE with SAP / GROW with SAP badges, ITIL, TOGAF.
