SAP Administration – SAP Basis

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced SAP Basis Administrator / Consultant with 3+ years of hands-on experience in SAP Basis administration, system monitoring, troubleshooting, upgrades, patching, transport management and database administration.

The candidate should have strong hands-on experience in SAP ABAP and JAVA environments, with exposure to SAP S/4HANA, SAP HANA and Sybase ASE. Experience with SAP system upgrades, migrations and technical administration will be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Perform day-to-day SAP Basis administration and technical support for SAP environments.

Administer and support SAP ABAP and JAVA systems.

Monitor SAP systems, including work processes, system logs, users, system performance and short dumps.

Perform SAP HANA and Sybase ASE database administration and troubleshooting.

Support SAP S/4HANA / SAP HANA environments.

Perform SAP kernel upgrades/downgrades, patching and component upgrades.

Support Support Package upgrades for ABAP, JAVA and dual-stack systems using SUM.

Perform SAP client administration, including client creation, deletion and client copy.

Perform SAP user administration, including user creation, password reset, user unlock, roles and profile maintenance using PFCG.

Configure and manage Transport Management System (TMS).

Create and maintain RFC connections between DEV, QAS and PRD systems.

Support SAP system copy and post-migration activities.

Perform SAP license administration for ABAP, JAVA and HANA systems.

Analyze and troubleshoot SAP short dumps, system logs and other technical issues.





Introduce technical changes using a structured approach while maintaining system availability, reliability and performance.

Work with SAP Service Marketplace and SAP Notes to identify solutions, download required patches and resolve technical issues.

Collaborate with functional, development and infrastructure teams to resolve SAP technical issues.

Mandatory Skills

3+ years of experience in SAP Basis Administration

Strong hands-on experience in SAP ABAP and JAVA system administration

Experience with SAP S/4HANA / SAP HANA

Hands-on knowledge of SAP HANA database

Good knowledge of Sybase ASE

Experience with SAP upgrades, patching and kernel upgrades/downgrades

Experience with SUM (Software Update Manager)

Knowledge of SAP Client Administration

Knowledge of SAP User Administration and PFCG

Experience with TMS / Transport Management

Experience creating and managing RFC connections

Knowledge of SAP system monitoring and troubleshooting

Hands-on experience with SAP short dump analysis

Knowledge of SAP License Administration

Basic knowledge of SAP system copy and post-migration activities

Ability to work with SAP Notes / SAP Service Marketplace
