What a Story
India
They’re not buying photography. They’re trusting us with memories they’ll keep for the rest of their lives. That changes the way you sell.
At What A Story, we photograph and film weddings across India and the United States.
Behind every enquiry is a couple planning one of the biggest celebrations of their lives.
They've probably spoken to five photographers.
Compared ten Instagram pages.
Received multiple quotations.
Asked their friends.
Changed their minds three times.
And somewhere in all that noise…
your conversation can be the reason they choose us.
We're looking for a Sales Manager who knows how to make that conversation count.
We Don't Want a Quotation Sender.Lead comes in.
Send PDF.
"Please check and let me know."
Follow up three days later.
"Any update?"
That's not sales.
We want conversations.
Understand the couple.
Their wedding.
Their families.
Their priorities.
What they're excited about.
What they're worried about.
What matters to them — even when they don't say it directly.
Then help them understand why What A Story could be the right team to tell their story.
Sell the Value Before You Sell the Price.Premium sales isn't about being the cheapest.
It's about making the difference explicit enough to matter.
When someone says:
“Another photographer quoted less.”
We don't want your immediate reaction to be:
"How much discount can I give?"
We want you to understand what they're comparing.
Build value.
Communicate confidence.
Handle the objection.
And know when to close.
Discounting is easy. Creating desire is sales.
You'll Own the Conversation. From the first:
“Hi, we're getting married…”
to:
“We've made the payment. We're excited to have you!”
That journey is yours.
You'll manage enquiries across calls, WhatsApp, email,
video consultations and our CRM.
You'll follow up intelligently.
Build proposals.
Understand requirements.
Negotiate.
Handle objections.
Coordinate internally.
Maintain your pipeline.
And most importantly:
Close.
You Need to Understand People. Some clients decide emotionally.
Some need numbers.
Some need reassurance.
Some ask 37 questions before making a decision.
Some are ready to book but need one final push.
Some will tell you
“We'll get back to you.”
And a great salesperson understands that the conversation isn't necessarily over.
You need the emotional intelligence to know when to speak, when to listen, when to follow up and when to stop pushing.
Numbers Matter Here. We're a creative company.
But sales isn't abstract.
Leads.
Response time.
Follow-ups.
Consultations.
Proposals.
Conversion.
Revenue.
Average booking value.
Pipeline.
Forecasts.
Know your numbers.
Because great salespeople don't wait until the end of the month to discover they missed their target.
They know where they're heading while there's still time to change it.
We're Looking for Someone Who…Communicates exceptionally well.
Can build rapport quickly.
Is comfortable speaking with premium clients.
Knows how to ask the right questions.
Can negotiate without immediately dropping the price.
Follows up without sounding desperate.
Keeps a CRM clean.
Understands targets and accountability.
Can manage multiple conversations without allowing good leads to disappear.
And has the hunger to turn:
“We're just exploring options.”
into:
“Where do we pay the booking amount?”
You'll Be Selling Across Cultures.A wedding in Hyderabad doesn't always sell the same way as a wedding in Dallas.
A couple in California may ask different questions from a family planning a celebration in India.
Different cities.
Different cultures.
Different budgets.
Different expectations.
But one thing remains the same:
People buy from people they trust.
Your job is to build that trust.
And We Want a Manager, Not Just a Closer. We want someone who eventually looks beyond their own pipeline.
What objections are we hearing repeatedly?
Why are leads dropping?
Where are we losing conversions?
Which markets are responding?
What should we change in our pitch?
How can the team follow up better?
What can marketing do differently?
What can we learn from the clients who didn't book us?
Bring those insights back into the business.
Don't just work inside the sales system. Help us make the system better.
One More Thing.We love confidence.
We love ambition.
We love people who enjoy winning.
But we don't want aggressive selling.
A wedding is personal.
Treat it that way.
No manipulation.
No pressure for the sake of a target.
No promises the production team can't deliver.
Close the right clients, the right way.
Because the strongest sale isn't just getting someone to sign.
It's having them feel, months later:
“Choosing What A Story was one of the best decisions we made.”If you know how to create that kind of confidence…
- we should talk.
