Role Description The Technical Engineer will support and enhance Taxcart’s global tax engine as part of a full time remote role. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining integrations with e-commerce, invoicing, and ERP platforms. The role involves troubleshooting technical issues, optimizing system performance, and ensuring accuracy and reliability of tax calculations across diverse jurisdictions.

The Technical

Engineer will collaborate with product, engineering, and customer success teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, improve existing features, and contribute to documentation and best practices.



The position also includes participation in code reviews, quality assurance activities, and continuous improvement of deployment and monitoring processes.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in software engineering and integration development, preferably with experience in APIs, web services, and SDKs.
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python) and familiarity with relational or NoSQL databases.
- Experience with cloud platforms and DevOps practices, such as CI/CD pipelines, containerization, monitoring, and logging tools.
- Background in systems analysis, debugging, and performance optimization in distributed or high-availability environments.
- Understanding of financial or tax-related systems, compliance workflows, or fintech products is highly beneficial.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly, collaborate in cross-functional teams, and work independently in a remote setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with agile development methodologies and writing technical documentation is a plus.
