Designation: Quality Control Line Inspector

Department: Quality Control / Quality Assurance

Area: CNC & VMC Machining

Reports To: Quality Engineer / Quality Manager

Experience: 1–3 Years (or as per company requirement)

1. Job Purpose

To perform in-process and final inspection of CNC and VMC machined components, ensuring that products meet drawing specifications, dimensional requirements, customer requirements, and applicable quality standards.
1. Key Responsibilities

- Perform first-piece, in-process and final inspection of CNC & VMC machined components.
- Inspect components as per engineering drawings, control plans, inspection standards and work instructions.
- Check critical dimensions such as:
- OD / ID
- Length, width and thickness
- Hole diameter and depth
- PCD
- Thread dimensions
- Chamfer and radius
- Flatness, parallelism, perpendicularity and concentricity
- GD&T; requirements, where applicable
- Use measuring instruments such as:
- Vernier Caliper
- Micrometer
- Height Gauge
- Bore Gauge
- Depth Gauge
- Dial Gauge
- Thread Plug/Ring Gauges
- Radius Gauges
- Slip Gauges
- Profile Projector / CMM, where applicable
- Verify machine setting and first-off components before starting batch production.
- Conduct regular inspection during production to identify dimensional variation at an early stage.
- Ensure proper identification and segregation of OK, NG, rework and rejected components.




- Record inspection results accurately in inspection reports, check sheets and production quality records.
- Immediately inform the Production Supervisor / Quality Engineer about non-conforming parts or process deviations.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality problems.
- Verify corrective action and re-inspect corrected components.
- Monitor tool wear and dimensional variation and inform production when tool offset/correction is required.
- Ensure measuring instruments are within their calibration validity.
- Maintain proper handling and storage of measuring instruments.
- Perform line patrol inspection at defined intervals.
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications and quality procedures.
- Maintain housekeeping and follow 5S, safety and quality requirements.
- Support internal, customer and certification audits when required.

1. Technical Skills

- Valuable understanding of CNC and VMC machining processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of basic GD&T; and geometric tolerances.
- Knowledge of machining tolerances and surface-finish requirements.
- Good knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to understand inspection methods and sampling plans.
- Basic knowledge of 7 QC tools is preferred.
- Knowledge of 5 Why, Fishbon

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
