Role & responsibilities

Job Purpose:

To ensure proper inspection of Raw Material, Structures, Panel Fabrications and allied products at vendor location and ensure valuable parts are received in the factory. The Quality Engineer is responsible for verifying performance parameters, ensuring compliance with design and quality standards, and supporting continuous improvement in product reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Incoming Material & Vendor Inspection

- Perform incoming inspection of mechanical components.
- Verify material test certificates (MTCs), inspection reports, and compliance documents.
- Conduct vendor inspections at supplier premises for fabricated structures, enclosures, busbars, and purchased items.
- Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for non-conforming materials and follow up on corrective actions.
- Evaluate supplier quality performance and maintain vendor inspection records.

2. Fabrication & Structural Inspection

- Inspect fabricated structures as per approved drawings and specifications Inspection at Vendor locations and MFG plant, Bhosari.
- Verify dimensions, welding quality, fit-up, surface finish, and tolerances.
- Ensure compliance with approved WPS, fabrication standards, and customer requirements.
- Inspect powder coating/painting quality, coating thickness, and visual appearance.
- Witness and record stage inspections during fabrication.

3. Panel Enclosure Inspection

- Inspect panel enclosures at Inward and at vendor location for ready enclosures.
- Verify panel dimensions, layout, component mounting, and workmanship.
- Inspect busbar fabrication,



insulation clearances, torque values, labeling, and wiring.
- Ensure proper earthing, gland plate arrangement, cable routing, and identification.
- Verify mechanical assembly and enclosure quality before dispatch.

4. Documentation

- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, checklists, test reports, and quality records.
- Review manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and customer specifications.
- Prepare inspection release notes and support dispatch clearance.
- Maintain traceability records and calibration status of measuring instruments.

5. Quality Management System

- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 requirements and company quality procedures.
- Participate in internal audits and process improvement initiatives.
- Conduct root cause analysis for quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Support implementation of 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement activities.

Preferred candidate profile

Required Skills & Competencies:

- Sound knowledge of control panels fabrication, structures and other mechanical items.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments (Vernier caliper, Micrometer, Gauges, DFT meter shade cards etc.).
- Understanding of fabrication parts and measurement.
- Ability to read and interpret Mechanical GA Drawings.
- Good analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Work Location: Manufacturing Plant, Bhosari and Vendor Locations.

Working Conditions:

- Inspection at Vendor locations

May require coordination with design, production, Purchase and Vendors.
