Role Description The Quality Control Inspector – Refractory will perform day-to-day inspections of refractory installations and related materials to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. This contract role is based in office in Muscat and involves monitoring work in progress, verifying measurements and tolerances, and documenting inspection findings in clear reports.

The inspector will collaborate with site supervisors, technicians, and project engineers to address non-conformities, recommend corrective actions, and support continuous improvement of processes.





Responsibilities include reviewing technical drawings and procedures, conducting visual and dimensional checks, overseeing testing as required, and ensuring all quality documentation is maintained and submitted accurately. The role also requires active participation in site meetings, clear communication with stakeholders, and adherence to KAEFER’s quality and safety policies.

Qualifications

- API 936 Certification - Mandatory
- Candidates should possess skills in Quality Control and Inspection, with experience in VSK, Blast Furnace or lime kiln refractory
- Candidates should possess skills in Quality Assurance and Quality Management, including implementing and following quality procedures and standards.

* Relevant technical certification or diploma in engineering, materials, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in industrial or construction environments, particularly in refractory, insulation, or surface protection, is an advantage.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and ability to work in compliance with HSE requirements on-site.
