About Solutionara

Solutionara is a U.S.-based IT Consulting and Technology Services firm with a Global Delivery Center in Noida, India.

As a fast-scaling consulting firm, we operate with high ownership, lean teams, and disciplined execution. We are also evolving toward an AI-enabled delivery model, focused on enterprise integration, digital transformation, and scalable technology solutions for global clients.

Our GDC plays a critical role in building high-impact engineering and delivery teams while driving operational excellence through structured processes and intelligent automation.

Role Overview

Solutionara is looking for a QA Lead – Quality Engineering & Automation to lead quality engineering activities across enterprise application, integration, cloud, data, and digital transformation engagements.

This is a hands-on QA leadership role. The individual will be expected to provide technical and delivery leadership to QA engineers while remaining actively involved in test strategy, manual/functional testing, test automation, API testing, defect analysis, release validation, and quality governance.

The QA Lead will work closely with Project Managers, Technical Project Managers, Solution Architects, Developers, DevOps Engineers, Integration Engineers, Product/Business teams, and client stakeholders to ensure quality is built into the delivery lifecycle rather than treated only as a final testing activity.

The ideal candidate should be equally comfortable developing an automation framework, reviewing test scenarios, investigating a production defect, coordinating UAT/release readiness, and guiding QA team members.

What You’ll Do

QA Leadership & Quality Ownership

- Own QA planning and execution across assigned projects and releases.
- Define the overall test strategy, test approach, scope, estimates, environments, entry/exit criteria, and quality gates.
- Lead and guide QA engineers across manual and automation testing activities.
- Review test plans, test scenarios, test cases, automation coverage, defect reports, and testing evidence.
- Assign and coordinate QA activities based on project priorities, release schedules, dependencies, and team capacity.
- Mentor QA team members and support development of stronger testing, automation, and analytical capabilities.
- Partner with Project Managers and engineering leads to identify quality risks early and establish appropriate mitigation plans.
- Provide clear visibility into testing progress, defect trends, blockers, release risks, and overall product quality.
- Promote accountability, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the QA function.

Manual & Functional Testing

- Remain hands-on with functional, regression, integration, system, exploratory, smoke, sanity, and end-to-end testing where required.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
- Validate complex workflows across web applications, APIs, integrations, databases, and enterprise systems.
- Perform positive, negative, boundary, exception, and data-validation testing.
- Validate cross-browser and responsive application behavior where applicable.
- Identify gaps and ambiguities in requirements before they become downstream defects.
- Ensure adequate regression coverage for releases and production changes.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test preparation, defect triage, validation, and business-user coordination.

Test Automation

- Design, develop, maintain, and improve scalable test automation frameworks.
- Identify appropriate candidates for automation based on business criticality, repeatability, regression requirements, risk, and return on automation effort.
- Develop and maintain automated tests for web applications and APIs.
- Establish reusable automation components, coding standards, test-data approaches, reporting, and framework best practices.
- Review automation code developed by QA engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Improve automation coverage while ensuring automated tests remain reliable, maintainable, and relevant.

Defect Management & Root Cause Analysis

- Own disciplined defect lifecycle management from identification through closure.
- Ensure defects contain appropriate evidence, reproducible steps, severity/priority, environment details, and business impact.
- Lead or participate in defect triage discussions with engineering, product, delivery, and client teams.
- Distinguish between application defects, test-data issues, environment problems, integration failures, and requirement gaps.
- Perform defect trend analysis and identify recurring quality issues.
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major defects and production incidents.
- Work with engineering teams to ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented where appropriate.

Release & Production Quality

- Support QA readiness across development, QA, UAT, staging, and production environments.
- Assess testing completeness and provide evidence-based recommendations on release readiness.
- Ensure critical defects and known risks are clearly communicated before production deployment.
- Participate in release planning, cutover, deployment validation, smoke testing, and post-release verification.
- Support production incident investigation and defect reproduction when required.
- Maintain appropriate traceability between requirements, testing, defects, and release outcomes.

Quality Governance & Reporting

- Establish practical QA standards, templates, checklists, and testing processes appropriate for a growing technology services organization.
- Track relevant quality metrics including test execution, pass/fail trends, defect leakage, defect aging, severity distribution, automation coverage, regression results, and release quality.
- Provide concise QA status reporting to Project Managers, Delivery Leadership, and other stakeholders.
- Identify emerging quality risks early rather than waiting until the end of the testing cycle.
- Participate in project governance and release-readiness discussions.
- Help standardize QA practices across projects while allowing appropriate flexibility based on technology and client requirements.

AI-Assisted Quality Engineering

- Use approved AI-assisted tools to improve productivity across test-case development, test-data preparation, automation development, defect analysis, documentation, and test coverage analysis.
- Evaluate opportunities to use AI to identify testing gaps and improve regression coverage.
- Encourage responsible use of AI-assisted engineering tools while maintaining appropriate review, security, confidentiality, and quality controls.
