Role summary

We are hiring a Project Manager to run end-to-end delivery of an SAP application modernization program. Custom SAP extraction logic is decomposed and rebuilt on Azure Databricks, with SAP Datasphere within SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) as the integration layer. The PM owns scope, plan, budget, risks and business sign-off across Sales, Finance,

Inventory and Purchasing.

Cross-cutting workstreams: ABAP logic classification and target disposition, the ABAP-to-

lakehouse migration approach, and SAP system access (S/4HANA source, connectivity and

BDC Datasphere).

Key responsibilities

Planning and delivery management

Build and own the integrated project plan, phase roadmap, milestones and resource plan across the RFC/FM, extractor and BEx/BW phases.

Break the 70-object volumetric into estimated, trackable work packages (discovery,

ingestion, Bronze/Silver, Gold, validation, reporting).

Run Agile/hybrid delivery: sprint planning, stand-ups, RAID logs, burn-down and status reporting.





Track effort, budget and schedule; manage change requests and scope control.

Technical oversight (SAP & BDC)

Understand how custom function modules, RFCs, extractors, BEx queries and T-

codes are decomposed, and challenge estimates and designs credibly.

Oversee object discovery: ABAP logic reverse-engineering, BW model decomposition, and identification of source tables and relationships.

Govern ABAP logic classification and target disposition, and the agreed migration approach from ABAP to lakehouse logic.

Track the CDS-view-versus-extractor decision for each of the 18 extractors.

Oversee SAP Datasphere Replication Flow (POI) pipelines landing data in ADLS within the existing folder structure.

Monitor Databricks medallion delivery: business logic in Bronze ,Silver, Gold as facts and dimensions.

Dependencies, access and environments

Secure S/4HANA source access, connectivity and BDC Datasphere provisioning with client Basis, security and infrastructure teams.

Coordinate with Azure / Databricks platform teams on environments, Unity Catalog and deployment pipelines.

Manage dependencies with the owners of the existing Gold layer and Power BI estate.

Quality, testing and sign-off

Define test strategy and data testing criteria with the architect and business.

Drive the data validation framework (custom SAP ERP objects vs Gold layer) and reconciliation of the new Gold layer against the existing one.

Plan and run UAT, cut-over of 3 new Power BI reports, re-pointing of existing reports, and formal business sign-off.

Stakeholder and team leadership

Act as single point of contact for client business owners in Sales, Finance, Inventory and Purchasing, and for IT leadership.





Run steering committees and weekly status reviews; escalate risks and issues early with options.

Lead a multi-skilled onshore/offshore team and manage vendor or partner contributions.

Ensure deliverable documents are produced, reviewed and approved on time.

Required skills and experience

Project management

1012 years in IT delivery, with 5+ years as PM on SAP data, BW or analytics programs.

Delivered at least one SAP-to-cloud data or BW modernization program end to end.

Strong in Agile, Waterfall and hybrid delivery; skilled with Jira / Azure DevOps and

MS Project.

Proven budget, risk, change-control and RAID management on fixed-scope or fixed-

price engagements.

SAP and SAP BDC knowledge

Good working knowledge of custom ABAP objects (function modules, RFCs, T-

codes) and how they are decomposed.

Sound understanding of SAP BW: extractors, DataSources, BW models and BEx queries.

Familiarity with S/4HANA data models for SD, FI/CO and MM, and with ABAP

CDS views as extractor replacements.

Hands-on exposure to SAP Datasphere within SAP BDC, especially Replication

Flows and premium outbound integration (POI).

Understanding of Azure Databricks, ADLS Gen2, medallion architecture (Bronze /

Silver / Gold) and fact/dimension modelling.

Experience managing data validation, reconciliation and UAT for migration programs.

Familiarity with Power BI report migration and re-pointing.

Qualifications
