Project Manager / Transition Manager- SKF Automotive Business
We are in the process of identifying a suitable candidate for the role of Project Manager / Transition Manager. This role will be based in Pune and will report to the Finance Specialist Lead.
Purpose of the role:
As part of our Finance Transformation, we are building a future-ready Finance Shared Services organization in India. We are looking for an experienced Transition Manager who can lead the end-to-end transition of finance processes into the revised operating model, ensuring seamless execution, strong governance, and successful stakeholder alignment across multiple countries and functions.
Key responsibilities (or What you can expect in the role)
- Lead the end-to-end transition of finance processes into the planned shared services, ensuring business continuity throughout the transformation.
- Develop and manage comprehensive transition roadmaps, project charters, milestones, budgets, and implementation timelines.
- Establish project governance frameworks, stage-gate reviews, reporting mechanisms, and decision-making forums to track progress and mitigate risks.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer activities, process documentation, SOP development, and capability-building plans for newly hired teams.
- Identify transition risks, dependencies, and operational bottlenecks,
implementing mitigation actions proactively to minimize impact on business operations.
- Partner closely with Finance, HR, IT, Procurement and global stakeholders to ensure alignment on scope, timelines, resource requirements and future-state operating model.
- Oversee transition readiness assessments and ensure successful handover from existing service providers to the internal shared services organization.
- Drive continuous improvement opportunities, process harmonization and operational excellence initiatives during and after transition.
Requirements (or We expect you to have/be)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering or a related discipline.
- 8–15 years of overall experience, with significant experience in transition management, shared services, GCCs, business transformation or finance operations environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale transition or transformation programs involving multiple stakeholders and geographies.
- Strong project management expertise with proven capability in planning, governance, risk management and execution.
- Experience working with finance process domains such as Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Record-to-Report (R2R), Order-to-Cash (O2C), or Finance Transformation programs.
- PMP, PRINCE2, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent project management certification preferred.
- Robust analytical, stakeholder management, presentation and communication skills with experience engaging senior leaders and global teams.
