Highlight of the engagement opportunity

- Nature of role: Full time
- Number of years of experience expected:
- Project Manager: 8–13 years, including at least 5 years hands-on in credit risk modelling, credit analytics, credit policy, or regulatory capital.
- Project Director: 13–20 years, including at least 7 years in the above, with proven ownership of delivery, revenue, and client relationships.
- Candidates without direct credit risk modelling / analytics experience will not be shortlisted, regardless of general risk consulting pedigree.
- Areas of past experience preferred / mandatory:
- Credit risk modelling and scorecards: application, behavioural, collection, and bureau scorecards; credit rating and scoring models; PD / LGD / EAD models; scorecard development lifecycle including data preparation, WOE / IV analysis, logistic regression and machine learning models, cut-off setting, calibration, validation, monitoring, and redevelopment.
- Credit risk policy and framework: credit policy, underwriting and credit appraisal, delegation of authority, credit monitoring, early warning signals (EWS), restructuring, NPA / IRAC classification, provisioning, and write-off policy.
- Regulatory capital and Basel: credit RWA computation, Standardised and IRB (F-IRB / A-IRB) approaches, capital adequacy (CRAR), capital conservation buffer, leverage ratio, ICAAP, and stress testing.
- Portfolio analytics: vintage analysis, roll-rate and migration matrix, delinquency analysis, concentration risk, portfolio ECL, collections and recovery analytics.
- IFRS 9 / Ind AS 109: impairment model design, staging and SICR logic, ECL computation, macro-economic scenario design, and disclosures.
- Model risk management: model validation, model governance, model inventory, back-testing, benchmarking, sensitivity and outcome analysis, and ongoing monitoring.
- Regulatory frameworks: RBI guidelines on credit risk, ECL, IRAC, and provisioning; Basel III / IV; Middle East regulatory context (CBUAE, SAMA, CBB, QCB, CBO, CBK / CMA Kuwait) preferred.
- Consulting or in-house risk analytics experience with banks, NBFCs, insurers, or corporates.
- Educational qualification expected: Graduate / Postgraduate
- Additional qualifications / certifications required: None
- Preferable additional certifications: CA / FRM / Actuarial / CQF / PRM / CFA
- Preferred geography of previous work experience: India / Europe / APAC / US / Middle East
- Language requirements: Ability to write and speak fluently in English
- Application experience preferable: MS Excel, VBA, Python, R, SAS, SQL

Key responsibility areas:

A. Engagement delivery and project leadership

- Independently lead and manage consulting engagements with leading banks, financial institutions, NBFCs, insurance companies, and corporates across credit risk modelling, credit policy, regulatory capital, IFRS 9, and model risk management.
- Own end-to-end delivery: scoping, project planning, resourcing, risk identification, mitigation, stakeholder coordination, and sign-off.
- Lead client conversations on methodology, assumptions, model design, policy interpretation, regulatory expectations, and business impact.
- Drive day-to-day execution of assigned client projects and produce regular status reporting for management on progress, challenges, and key milestones.
- Manage audit, internal review, and regulator interactions related to models, credit policy, capital computation, ECL, and provisioning.

B. Credit risk modelling and scorecards
- Lead development, review, and redevelopment of credit scorecards across the customer lifecycle: application, behavioural, collection, and bureau scorecards.
- Lead development and review of credit rating and scoring models, including PD, LGD, and EAD models for retail and wholesale portfolios.
- Own the full model development lifecycle: data preparation, treatment of missing values and outliers, WOE / IV analysis, variable selection, segmentation, model building (logistic regression, decision trees, gradient boosting, and other ML techniques),



scaling, cut-off setting, and calibration.
- Define and implement model monitoring frameworks: PSI, CSI, Gini / AUC, KS, lift, vintage and stability analysis, and trigger-based redevelopment.
- Support credit strategy design, including approval / rejection / limit assignment strategies and risk-based pricing inputs.
- Produce clear, defensible model documentation and validation-ready model development reports.

C. Credit risk policy, framework, and regulatory capital
- Review, design, and draft credit risk policies covering credit appraisal, underwriting, delegation of authority, collateral management, credit monitoring, EWS, restructuring, NPA / IRAC classification, provisioning, and write-off.
- Assess policy effectiveness against regulatory requirements and internal risk appetite, and recommend enhancements.
- Lead credit RWA computation under Standardized and IRB (F-IRB / A-IRB) approaches.
- Support capital adequacy (CRAR), capital conservation buffer, leverage ratio, ICAAP, and stress testing exercises.
- Build and review stress testing and scenario analysis frameworks for credit risk, including portfolio-level impact assessment.
- Interpret and apply RBI, Basel III / IV, and Middle East regulatory expectations on credit risk, capital, and provisioning.

D. Portfolio analytics
- Lead portfolio analytics covering vintage analysis, roll-rate and migration matrix, delinquency and bucket movement, concentration risk, and portfolio ECL.
- Build collections and recovery analytics, including recovery rate modelling and prepayment behaviour analysis.
- Develop portfolio dashboards and MIS for risk committees, boards, and regulators.
- Identify emerging risk trends and recommend corrective actions at portfolio level.

E. IFRS 9 / Ind AS 109 impairment
- Lead IFRS 9 / Ind AS 109 impairment workstreams covering staging, SICR assessment, ECL computation, and enhancement of ECL and provisioning approaches.
- Design and review macro-economic scenario design, satellite models, and forward-looking overlay adjustments.
- Support IFRS 9 transition and implementation, including parallel run, impact assessment, and disclosure requirements.
- Align IFRS 9 ECL with credit policy, provisioning policy, and regulatory capital frameworks.

F. Model risk management
- Lead model validation and independent review: conceptual soundness, data quality, methodology review, back-testing, benchmarking, sensitivity analysis, and outcome analysis.
- Design and strengthen model risk management frameworks, including model governance, model inventory, model tiering, validation standards, and ongoing monitoring.
- Define model risk appetite, model risk reporting, and escalation protocols.
- Support regulatory and audit reviews on model risk management practices.

G. Practice, people, and business (Project Director emphasis)
- Lead and be responsible for team mentoring, project management, and client delivery.
- Own project revenue, margin, and resource utilization for assigned engagements.
- Generate business from existing clients and support pre-sales, proposals, and solutioning for new clients.
- Build and scale the credit risk consulting practice, including hiring, capability building, and reusable methodologies, scorecard templates, and accelerators.
- Represent Acies in client leadership forums and industry discussions on credit risk, IFRS 9, capital, and model risk.

- Work permit requirements: Either Indian Citizen or having valid works in India
- Period of engagement: Full time
- Probation period: 6 months
- Compensation: Compensation varies depending on the skill,



fitment and role played by the person. Compensation discussions will take place post the selection process.

Selection process:

We seek to be transparent during the selection process. While the actual process may vary from the process indicated below, the key steps involved are as follows:

1. Technical and modelling interview: Deep-dive assessment of scorecard and rating model development, PD / LGD / EAD modelling, model validation, and credit policy experience.
2. Case study / modelling round: Practical scenario covering scorecard development, staging and ECL computation, capital computation, or model validation findings.
3. Delivery and leadership interview: Project ownership, stakeholder management, team leadership, and commercial acumen.
4. Final discussion on career and compensation: Post final selection, a separate discussion will be set up to discuss compensation and career growth.

The number of interview rounds may increase depending on the criticality and seniority of the role involved.
