Role Description The Project Accountant role at Studio Chintala is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru. This role is responsible for managing project-level finances, including tracking budgets, monitoring costs, preparing invoices, and reconciling accounts for ongoing design projects.
The Project
Accountant will collaborate closely with project managers and studio leadership to provide accurate financial reports, support forecasting, and ensure adherence to financial policies and timelines. Daily activities include updating financial records, reviewing contracts for billing terms, coordinating with vendors and clients on payments,
and identifying variances between planned and actual project expenses. The role also contributes to improving financial processes, supporting audits or reviews, and providing insights that help the studio deliver projects efficiently and sustainably.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in project accounting, cost tracking, and budget management for multi-phase projects.
- Proficiency in accounting software and tools, along with strong skills in spreadsheets and financial reporting.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, billing cycles, reconciliations, and basic taxation relevant to project work.
- Solid analytical and numerical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data entry.
- Ability to collaborate with project teams, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and manage multiple deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications are an advantage.
- Experience in architecture, design, or creative studios is preferred but not required.
- Comfort working on-site in a dynamic, design-focused environment and adapting to evolving project needs.
