About the Role
This is not a conventional supply chain/operations role. We're looking for a Program Manager to own the Spares & Inventory charter end-to-end — managing a ~₹10 Cr monthly procurement outlay and standing inventory across 14 stores/warehouses, leading a team of ~150 professionals, and negotiating with a vendor ecosystem of 400+ suppliers. The role directly impacts vehicle turnaround time, cost of quality, working-capital efficiency, and business growth, combining large-scale field operations, vendor management, inventory ownership, and data-driven decision-making — with significant ownership and direct business impact.
Key Responsibilities
Spares Procurement & Vendor Management
- Own end-to-end procurement strategy, driving cost optimization, quality standards, and supply reliability across the vendor ecosystem
- Build vendor evaluation frameworks and scorecards; identify and onboard recent vendors to improve cost, quality, and geographic coverage
Inventory & Working Capital Management
- Own inventory control and health across the warehouse network — tracking ageing, stock-outs, excess/obsolete stock, and fill rates
- Drive inventory optimization to improve working-capital efficiency without compromising service levels; partner with Finance to align on targets
Operations & Team Leadership
- Build and lead a high-performing, multi-city field team — driving hiring, training, and performance management
- Standardize processes and SOPs across stores/warehouses to ensure consistency at scale
- Solve complex ground-level operational challenges across geographies, balancing service levels with cost and working-capital discipline
Cross-Functional Partnership & Data-Driven Decisions
- Partner with in-house refurbishment workshops and the external partner workshop network to ensure spares availability supports vehicle TAT
- Work with Quality and Business/Operations leadership to align sourcing strategy with cost-of-quality and growth goals
- Build dashboards to track procurement spend, inventory health, and vendor performance; drive structured, data-backed stakeholder reviews
Requirements
Education
- B.Tech from a Tier 1 college is required; MBA preferred
Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in supply chain, procurement, vendor, or inventory management, ideally at scale
- Experience managing large, distributed, multi-city teams and field operations
- Strong vendor negotiation and relationship management skills, with experience managing a large supplier base
- Strong analytical skills, with comfort using data/dashboards to drive decisions
- Excellent stakeholder management skills across operations, workshops, quality, and finance teams
- Ability to solve complex, ground-level operational problems independently and at scale
Nice to Have
- Experience in automotive, auto-ancillary, refurbishment, or vehicle servicing industries
- Experience managing spares/inventory in a high-velocity, multi-location retail or service network
- Exposure to ERP/inventory management systems and procurement analytics tools
