Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Pharma Production In-Charge to supervise and manage day-to-day pharmaceutical production activities. The candidate will be responsible for achieving production targets while ensuring compliance with GMP, SOPs, quality standards, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily pharmaceutical production activities.
- Ensure production is carried out as per approved Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR) and SOPs.
- Ensure adherence to GMP, GLP, safety, and hygiene requirements applicable to the facility.
- Monitor batch manufacturing activities from dispensing to processing, filling, packing, and finished-product transfer, as applicable.
- Ensure proper line clearance before starting production activities.
- Verify availability and status of raw materials, packaging materials, equipment, and manpower.
- Coordinate with QA/QC, Warehouse, Engineering, Purchase, and Maintenance departments.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of batch records, logbooks, checklists, and production reports.
- Monitor critical process parameters and ensure they remain within approved limits.
- Investigate and report production deviations, incidents, breakdowns, and process abnormalities.
- Coordinate with QA for deviation, CAPA, change control, and other quality-related activities.
- Ensure proper identification, handling, storage, and traceability of raw materials and finished products.
- Monitor production yields, material reconciliation, wastage, rejection, and productivity.
- Ensure proper cleaning and sanitation of production areas and equipment.
- Ensure equipment is operated and maintained according to approved procedures.
- Supervise and train production staff on GMP, SOPs, safety, hygiene, and production procedures.
- Monitor staff attendance, shift allocation, discipline, and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions immediately.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports for management.
- Identify process bottlenecks and implement improvements to enhance productivity and reduce wastage.
- Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits and ensure timely closure of observations.
- Ensure all production activities are carried out in accordance with applicable pharmaceutical regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- B.Pharm / M.Pharm / B.Sc / M.Sc / Diploma in Pharmacy or relevant pharmaceutical/technical qualification.
- 3–8 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing/production.
- Experience in handling production teams and pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
- Hands-on knowledge of GMP, SOPs, BMR/BPR, batch documentation, and production processes.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical production processes.
- Good understanding of GMP and documentation practices.
- Knowledge of BMR/BPR and batch reconciliation.
- Good understanding of deviation, CAPA, change control, and incident reporting.
- Strong leadership and team-management skills.
- Positive problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Good communication and interdepartmental coordination skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and production reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
