Role & responsibilities :
The Procurement SME will be responsible for driving various procurement projects that are planned as a part of procurement GBS Roadmap.
- Perform gap analysis and document current state ("as-is") and future state ("to-be") procurement processes, including P2P (Procure-to-Pay), with a clear mandate for global standardization.
- Develop and maintain a global service catalogue ensuring alignment with all geographies
- Formulate global KPIs and work closely with IT/BI teams for visualization to monitor GBS performance and process health.
- Develop (when necessary) and maintain comprehensive standard operating procedures (SOPs), process flows, training materials, and policy documents for all procurement activities, ensuring consistency across all GBS-supported geographies.
- Propose and drive the harmonization of processes across geographies after thorough gap analysis, aligning with the GBS strategy.
- Ensure all processes align with internal policies, external regulations, and best practices in global procurement.
- Contribute significantly to the ongoing procurement projects ( SIM, SNOW, Coupa Globalisation, P2P Optimisation) on the GBS perimeter.
- Support the implementation of new procurement technologies (e.g., e-Sourcing platforms, P2P systems) by configuring system workflows and testing process functionality.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma principles) to enhance process efficiency, reduce cycle times, and minimize operational costs.
- Drive standardization of procurement processes across different business units or geographical locations.
- Monitor process compliance and performance against established KPIs and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Conduct regular audits of procurement processes to ensure adherence to internal controls, regulatory requirements, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with internal audit and risk management teams to address process control deficiencies.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for procurement processes, providing guidance and support to the procurement team and business stakeholders.
- Develop and deliver training programs and workshops on new processes and system functionalities to ensure effective adoption.
Preferred candidate profile
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.
- Good presentation skills - ability to develop effective presentations and position papers
- Minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Process Improvement, or a related analytical role.
- Proven experience in designing, documenting, and implementing procurement processes (e.g., P2P, Sourcing).
- Solid proficiency in process mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, Aris) and understanding of BPMN (Business Process Modeling Notation).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of procurement systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa, Oracle Fusion) and ERP integration with P2P workflows.
- Certification in process improvement (e.g., Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, Lean Certification).
- Experience in change management and project management methodologies.
- Familiarity with robotic process automation (RPA) and its application in procurement.
