The Customer Mobile Applications team is responsible for delivering world-class digital experiences across iOS, Android, and the backend services that power them. This team owns customer-facing mobile experiences supporting millions of users through scalable Java and JavaScript services deployed across a multi-cloud ecosystem.

As a Principal Solution Architect, you will drive the technical vision, architecture strategy, and engineering standards across mobile applications and supporting platforms. You will work closely with Product, Engineering Managers, Principal Engineers, and cross-functional partners to build highly scalable, secure, and reliable solutions that improve customer experience and business outcomes. This role requires both hands-on technical leadership and strategic architectural thinking.

What You'll Do:

- Define and evolve application architecture for customer-facing mobile platforms and backend services.
- Lead architecture and design reviews for Java, and JavaScript-based solutions.
- Collaborate with iOS and Android leads.
- Establish technical standards, engineering best practices, and architectural governance across multiple squads.
- Drive modernization initiatives including cloud-native architectures, microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, and platform scalability.
- Partner with Product Owners and Engineering Managers during roadmap planning, PI planning, and solution definition activities.
- Guide teams in designing secure, highly available, performant,



and resilient systems.
- Lead multi-cloud architecture strategy across AWS, Azure, and other cloud platforms as required.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies that align with business goals.
- Define integration patterns between mobile applications, enterprise platforms, third-party partners, and cloud services.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and enterprise architecture teams to ensure compliance and operational readiness.
- Provide technical mentorship to engineers and technical leads across multiple teams.
- Participate in production readiness reviews, incident analysis, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement activities.
- Drive adoption of AI-assisted development, automation, observability, and DevSecOps practices.
- Ensure solutions align with accessibility, privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 10 years of software engineering experience.
- 5 years of software architecture or technical leadership experience.
- Experience designing and delivering large-scale customer-facing digital products.

Technical Experience:

- Strong expertise with Java and modern backend frameworks (Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices).
- Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystems and modern web technologies.
- Strong understanding of iOS and Android application architectures and mobile development best practices.
- Experience designing event-driven and API-first architectures.
- Experience with cloud-native architectures and containerized applications.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems, performance optimization, and scalability patterns.

Preferred Qualifications:





- Experience supporting enterprise mobile applications with millions of customers.
- Experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native deployment models.
- Experience with observability platforms, monitoring, logging, and operational excellence practices.
- Background in airline, travel, hospitality, retail, or other high-volume customer-facing industries.
- Experience implementing AI-accelerated engineering solutions.
- Familiarity with SAFe Agile delivery frameworks and PI Planning.
- Experience leading globally distributed engineering teams
