Role & responsibilities

Order intake and feasibility

- Review every current order: drawings, BOM, specs, quantities and delivery dates.

- Check capacity and material availability; give sales a committed, realistic delivery date.

- Build and maintain BOMs and routings for new and existing products.

Planning and scheduling

- Prepare the monthly master production schedule and break it into weekly and daily plans by section (cutting, fabrication, welding, galvanizing, foundry, packing).

- Run capacity and load planning; sequence jobs to hit deadlines with minimum changeovers.

- Re-plan quickly when priorities, breakdowns or material issues change the picture.

Material planning and inventory

- Run MRP: raise material requirements to purchase on time, based on orders and stock.

- Optimise tube cutting plans to cut offcut waste and improve yield.

- Set min-max levels for key raw materials and consumables; control WIP.





- Run cycle counts with stores and reconcile book vs physical stock every month.

Monitoring and MIS

- Maintain a live order tracker: status of every order from receipt to dispatch.

- Publish daily plan vs actual and a weekly report to the Plant Head and CEO: on-time delivery, backlog, capacity utilisation, material shortages, stock variance.

- Raise early warnings on orders at risk, with a recovery plan.

Dispatch and coordination

- Plan dispatches with sales and logistics; ensure documentation and packing are ready.

- Run a weekly planning meeting across sales, purchase, stores and production.

Systems

- Set up planning formats and trackers where none exist; move them into ERP over time.

- Keep master data (items, BOMs, routings, lead times) clean and current.
