About the Role

We are looking for a 3D Point Cloud Data Processing Engineer responsible for processing and preparing point cloud data for BIM-ready outputs. The role involves working with 3D scan data, automating data processing workflows, managing cloud-based workloads, and performing quality checks to ensure accurate and reliable deliverables.

Responsibilities

- Process and prepare 3D point cloud data for BIM-ready outputs.
- Work with LiDAR and 3D scan data to support Scan-to-BIM workflows.
- Use CloudCompare for point cloud processing, cleaning, alignment, segmentation, and analysis.
- Develop and automate data processing pipelines using Python.




- Work with Linux-based environments for data processing and automation.
- Manage and monitor point cloud processing workloads on AWS/GCP cloud platforms.
- Perform QC checks on processed point cloud data to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Identify and troubleshoot data processing issues and inconsistencies.
- Collaborate with BIM and technical teams to ensure deliverables meet project requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation of processing workflows and QC procedures.

Skillsets :

Required Skills

- 1–2 years of hands-on experience in 3D point cloud data processing.
- Strong hands-on experience with CloudCompare (Must-have).
- Proficiency in Python for data processing and workflow automation.
- Working knowledge of Linux environments and command-line tools.
- Experience working with AWS or GCP cloud platforms.
- Understanding of BIM and Scan-to-BIM workflows.
- Ability to perform quality checks and identify errors in point cloud data.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Good to Have :

- Experience working with LiDAR data and 3D scanning technologies.
- Familiarity with point cloud formats such as LAS, LAZ, E57, PLY, or similar.
- Knowledge of BIM tools and workflows.
- Experience in automating large-scale point cloud processing workflows.
- Familiarity with Docker or other containerization tools.
