About Shiksha Study Abroad

Shiksha Study Abroad is India’s leading study abroad counselling platform, helping thousands of students navigate their journey to international universities. We combine expert counselling with data-driven product experiences to match students with the right universities, courses, and outcomes. We are part of Info Edge — the company behind Naukri.com, Jeevansathi, and 99acres.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Product Manager to own the counselling operations stack — the systems that power how our counsellors discover, engage, and convert students into successful university applicants.

This is not a typical SaaS PM role. You’ll be deeply embedded in counsellor workflows — understanding how leads are assigned, how counsellors prioritise their pipeline, how shortlists are built, how follow-ups happen, and where friction kills conversion. You’ll own the internal tools that make counsellors productive and the data layer that makes their decisions smarter.

We expect you to think AI-first. Every workflow you touch — lead scoring, counsellor task prioritisation, follow-up sequencing, shortlist intelligence — should be evaluated through the lens of “can AI do this better, faster, or automatically?” You’ll work with LLMs, automation, and intelligent agents as core building blocks, not afterthoughts.

If you’ve run your own startup and know what it means to ship with limited resources, or you’ve spent years in service operations and understand the pain of scaling human workflows — this role is for you.

What You’ll Own

AI-First Product Thinking

- Redesign the process and funnel to be AI first
- Identifying every manual, repetitive, or judgment-heavy workflow that can be augmented or replaced with AI — lead qualification, follow-up triggers, counsellor nudges, student communication drafts, document verification
- Building AI-powered features into the counsellor toolkit — smart suggestions,

auto-summarisation, intelligent routing, and predictive signals
- Staying current with LLM capabilities, AI agents, and automation tools, and continuously evaluating how they can be applied to counselling operations

CRM & Lead Management
- End-to-end lead lifecycle — from acquisition and scoring through assignment, nurturing, and conversion
- Lead quality frameworks — defining what makes a good lead, surfacing quality signals, and reducing counsellor time spent on low-intent or fraudulent leads
- Assignment logic — rules, routing, and balancing across counsellors, pods, and country specialisations
- Pipeline visibility — dashboards, alerts, and reporting that give counsellors and managers real-time clarity on their funnel

Counsellor Productivity Tools

- Workflow systems that reduce manual effort — task queues, smart follow-up reminders, student communication templates, and activity logging
- Shortlisting and application tracking tools used daily by counsellors
- Counsellor-facing intelligence — surfacing the right data (university fit, deposit likelihood, application deadlines) at the right moment in the counselling workflow
- Integration between CRM, course databases, university partner data, and communication channels

Operations & Process Design
- Translating operational models (e.g., country expert structure, pod-based counselling) into product and system changes
- Identifying and eliminating process bottlenecks through data analysis and counsellor shadowing

- Building feedback loops — connecting downstream outcomes (deposits, enrolments) back to upstream actions (lead quality, shortlist composition, counsellor behaviour)

What We’re Looking For

Must-Haves
- You’ve been a startup founder or early team member — you’ve built something from scratch, worn every hat, and understand what it takes to ship product with constraints
- Alternatively, 2–3 years in service operations, ops-tech, or product management — you’ve lived inside operational workflows (sales ops, service delivery, CRM, support, fulfilment) and know what breaks at scale.
- AI-first mindset — you default to asking “can AI handle this?” before designing a manual workflow. You’ve used LLMs, AI coding tools, or automation platforms in your work — not just experimented, but actually shipped or built with them
- Solid analytical chops — comfortable with SQL, spreadsheets, and data analysis; you form opinions from numbers, not just interviews
- Systems thinking — ability to see how lead scoring, assignment, counsellor workflows, and reporting connect into one system, not isolated features
- Clear communication — you can write a crisp PRD, present a tradeoff to leadership, and explain a decision to a counsellor with equal clarity
- Bias for action — we ship frequently and iterate fast; you should be comfortable with imperfect information and quick decision cycles

Good-to-Haves
- Experience in edtech, study abroad, recruitment, or marketplace businesses
- Familiarity with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, LeadSquared, or custom-built systems)
- Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, or AI agent frameworks
- Exposure to counsellor/agent productivity tools or sales enablement products
- Experience working with data engineering teams on pipelines, ETL, or data quality problems
- Understanding of fraud detection or lead quality scoring systems
