Job Summary

We are looking for a Piping Engineer to support the planning, coordination, documentation, and execution of Hot Tapping, Line Stop, and associated pipeline intervention projects.

The candidate will work closely with Engineering, Operations, Project, Procurement, QA/QC, and site teams to ensure that project activities are properly planned, scheduled, monitored, and completed safely and on time.

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare and maintain project schedules, work plans, and activity trackers for hot tapping and line stop projects.

· Review project scope, drawings, specifications, line lists, P&IDs;, and other technical documents.

· Assist in developing method statements, work procedures, job execution plans, and project schedules.

· Coordinate with engineering and site teams for manpower, equipment, tools, materials, and other project requirements.

· Monitor project progress against planned schedules and highlight delays or potential bottlenecks.

· Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.

· Maintain project planning documentation, including work orders, inspection records, material requirements, and completion documentation.

· Coordinate with procurement/stores to ensure availability of required hot tapping machines, line stop equipment, fittings, valves, tools, and consumables.

· Assist in preparing material take-offs (MTO),



equipment lists, manpower plans, and resource schedules.

· Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal departments as required.

· Support the preparation and tracking of project-related technical documents and approvals.

· Assist the site team in understanding planned activities, sequence of work, and project priorities.

· Track equipment mobilization, demobilization, and utilization.

· Support project cost and productivity monitoring.

· Ensure planning activities are aligned with company HSE, QA/QC, and project procedures.

· Participate in project review meetings and provide updates on progress, constraints, and upcoming activities.

· Maintain proper records for completed hot tapping and line stop jobs for future reference and lessons learned.

Technical Responsibilities

· Understand basic principles and applications of Hot Tapping and Line Stop operations.

· Understand pipeline systems, valves, fittings, flanges, P&IDs;, and related piping components.

· Assist in reviewing line conditions, operating parameters, pipe sizes, schedules, materials, and service conditions.

· Coordinate technical information required for hot tapping and line stop equipment selection.





· Assist in reviewing and compiling relevant inspection and NDT requirements.

· Coordinate with NDT personnel for required inspections and documentation.

· Maintain records of NDT reports, inspection reports, pressure/leak test records, equipment certificates, and job completion documents.

· Support preparation of technical documentation for client submission and project close-out.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

· ASNT Level II certification is preferred, particularly in relevant NDT methods such as:

o UT o MPI o LPT o RT

· Basic knowledge of pipeline inspection and NDT requirements.

· Good understanding of engineering drawings, P&IDs;, and piping layouts.

· Knowledge of project planning and scheduling techniques.

· Working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Project or Primavera P6 is preferred.

· Valuable communication and coordination skills.

· Ability to work with multiple departments and manage project priorities.

· Willingness to travel to project sites and work in industrial environments.

· Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Educational Qualification

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related discipline./ Piping Engineer

Experience

1–3 years of relevant experience in planning, project coordination, piping, pipeline, maintenance, shutdown, or oil & gas projects.

Fresh candidates with solid technical knowledge and relevant training may also be considered.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
