Company Description INTELLOCOPIA CONSULTING LLP (Intellocopia) is a boutique Intellectual Property firm that offers end-to-end services from IP acquisition to enforcement. The firm supports clients with IP policy development, including drafting employee agreements, confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, and memoranda of understanding.
Intellocopia provides comprehensive patent services covering searches, landscaping, freedom-to-operate analyses, drafting, prosecution, opposition, and infringement proceedings. The firm also handles trademark, copyright, and design registrations, along with related prosecution and opposition work. In addition, Intellocopia offers customized training on intellectual property rights and supports licensing and technology transfer initiatives.
Role Description The Patent Associate will work full time on-site in Bengaluru, supporting clients across a range of patent and broader IP matters. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting prior art and patentability searches, assisting with freedom-to-operate and patent landscaping analyses, and preparing and drafting patent specifications and related documents.
The role involves managing patent application filings and prosecution, coordinating with patent offices, and tracking deadlines and office actions.
The Patent
Associate will also contribute to IP strategy discussions,
support infringement and opposition-related work, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clear, accurate, and timely IP documentation.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in patent preparation and drafting, including writing clear and technically accurate patent specifications.
- Candidates should possess skills related to managing patent applications, including filing, prosecution, and responding to office actions.
- Candidates should possess skills in assessing patentability, including conducting prior art searches and evaluating novelty and inventive step.
- Candidates should possess a solid understanding of patent law and broader intellectual property principles, including enforcement and compliance.
- Relevant qualifications such as a degree in science, engineering, law, or a related discipline, with a focus on IP or patents, are beneficial.
- Strong analytical and research abilities, attention to detail, and explicit written communication skills are required.
- Prior experience or training in an IP law firm, corporate IP department, or patent office is an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively.
