- Manage the day-to-day operations of all operation theatres.
- Prepare and coordinate the OT schedule according to surgeons, patients, equipment, and theatre availability.
- Ensure OT readiness before every procedure, including instruments, equipment, consumables, implants, and emergency supplies.
- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthetists, nursing staff, CSSD, pharmacy, laboratory, blood bank, housekeeping, and other departments.
- Supervise and manage OT nurses, technicians, attendants, and support staff.
- Prepare staff duty rosters, allocate responsibilities, and monitor attendance and performance.
- Ensure strict compliance with infection prevention and control practices, including surgical hand hygiene, sterilization, aseptic technique, and environmental cleaning.
- Ensure proper functioning, maintenance, calibration, and availability of OT equipment and surgical instruments.
- Coordinate with CSSD for sterilization, packing, storage, and timely availability of instruments.
- Monitor OT consumables, implants, medicines, and inventory, including stock levels and expiry dates.
- Ensure correct patient identification, surgical site verification, consent, and safety checklist compliance.
- Monitor compliance with WHO Surgical Safety Checklist and hospital policies.
- Maintain accurate OT records, including surgery registers, implant records, instrument records, and utilization reports.
- Monitor OT turnaround time, utilization, cancellations, delays, and emergency cases.
- Handle OT-related incidents, complaints, equipment failures, and emergencies and escalate them appropriately.
- Participate in quality audits, infection-control audits, accreditation activities, and quality-improvement programs.
- Ensure proper biomedical waste segregation and disposal within the OT.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and repair of critical OT equipment with biomedical engineering and vendors.
- Conduct staff orientation, training, competency assessments, and regular departmental meetings.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly OT performance reports for hospital management.
- Monitor departmental expenses and help control costs without compromising patient safety or quality of care.
- Ensure compliance with applicable hospital, regulatory, safety, and clinical standards.
- Promote patient safety, staff safety, confidentiality, and skilled conduct.
Pay: ₹13,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
