Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough eye examinations using specialized tools such as autorefractometers, slit lamps, and fundus cameras to evaluate visual function and ocular health.
- Perform precise refraction and retinoscopy procedures to determine accurate prescription requirements for corrective lenses.
- Operate applanation tonometers and A-scan devices to measure intraocular pressure and axial length, respectively, aiding in the detection of conditions like glaucoma.
- Execute keratometry and HVF (Humphrey Visual Field) tests to assess corneal curvature and visual field integrity.
- Administer RT (Reduction Test) and utilize I care technology to support diagnostic accuracy and patient management.
- Provide expert counseling to patients regarding vision correction options, eye care maintenance, and the management of diagnosed eye conditions.
- Document examination findings and treatment plans clearly within patient records to ensure continuity of care.
Requirements
- Possess a minimum of 0-1 year of hands-on experience in the healthcare sector, specifically within optometry.
- Demonstrate proficiency with essential ophthalmic instruments including autorefractometer, slit lamp, applanation tonometer, fundus camera, A-scan, and keratometer.
- Exhibit strong technical skills in refraction, retinoscopy, and HVF testing to ensure diagnostic precision.
- Show capability in patient interaction and counseling to effectively communicate medical advice and treatment options.
- Maintain a solid understanding of vision science and ocular pathology to support clinical decision-making.
- Be adaptable to the fast-paced environment of a healthcare facility while maintaining high standards of patient care.
