We are seeking a dedicated Optometrist to join our Health Care team, where you will play a vital role in assessing visual health and delivering comprehensive eye care services. This position is ideal for a professional with a foundational understanding of ophthalmic diagnostics and patient interaction, focusing on the accurate measurement of vision and the identification of eye conditions. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough vision assessments and refraction tests to determine accurate prescription needs.
- Operate advanced diagnostic tools including autorefractometers, retinoscopes, slit lamps, and applanation tonometers for precise eye evaluations.
- Perform specialized procedures such as fundus photography, A-scans, and keratometry to analyze eye structure and health.
- Execute visual field testing (HVF) and retinal testing (RT Test) to detect potential vision impairments.
- Provide expert counseling to patients regarding their eye health, treatment options, and preventative care strategies.
- Utilize specific software and systems, such as I care, to manage patient records and examination data efficiently.
- Ensure all clinical procedures adhere to safety protocols and maintain high standards of patient care.
Requirements
- Possess a strong foundational knowledge of optometry principles with 0-1 year of relevant work experience.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using key ophthalmic equipment including the autorefractometer, slit lamp, fundus camera, and applanation tonometer.
- Show competence in performing essential clinical tasks such as refraction, retinoscopy, keratometry, and A-scan measurements.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively counsel patients and explain complex visual conditions clearly.
