Role Description The Multidiscipline Designer / Drafter will be responsible for preparing and updating engineering drawings and 3D models for offshore and onshore pipeline projects, using relevant CAD software and industry standards. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting engineering inputs, creating layouts, isometrics, and detailed fabrication drawings, and coordinating with pipeline, structural, mechanical, and process engineers to ensure design accuracy and consistency. The role involves checking and revising drawings based on review comments, maintaining design documentation, and supporting design deliverables for conceptual, FEED, and detailed engineering stages.
The Designer / Drafter will also assist in preparing bill of materials, ensuring alignment with safety regulations and client specifications. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru South.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong CAD and design skills, including proficiency in 2D/3D drafting tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar) and familiarity with pipeline and mechanical design standards.
- Candidates should possess multidisciplinary engineering understanding, including basic knowledge of pipeline, structural, mechanical, and subsea systems relevant to oil and gas projects.
- Candidates should possess technical documentation and quality skills, such as ability to produce clear drawings, maintain revision control, and adhere to engineering codes and company procedures.
- Candidates should possess analytical and problem-solving skills, including aptitude for interpreting engineering calculations, resolving drawing inconsistencies, and supporting design optimization.
- Candidates should possess collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders in an on-site project environment.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Pipeline, or related engineering discipline from an accredited institution is preferred.
- Relevant experience in oil and gas pipeline design, drafting, or similar industrial projects will be an advantage.
- Awareness of safety, regulatory, and industry standards applicable to pipeline design and construction is beneficial.
Position Description The Multidiscipline Designer / Drafter will prepare and revise coordinated AutoCAD 2D drawings across pipeline, piping, civil/structural, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines under the direction of the applicable discipline leads and Project Manager.
Essential Functions
· Prepare and update pipeline alignment sheets, routing and approach drawings, crossing details, and field-bend drawings.
· Prepare piping plot plans, general arrangements, isometrics, and tie-in drawings.
· Prepare civil, structural, pipe-support, cable-routing, and related discipline layouts.
· Develop drawings from survey data, engineering inputs, specifications, calculations, and existing or as-built records.
· Coordinate multidisciplinary drawings, perform drafting checks, maintain revisions, and incorporate review comments.
Qualifications
· 5–10 years of multidisciplinary design and drafting experience in the oil and gas industry.
· Strong proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and experience producing pipeline and facility engineering drawings.
· Experience preparing pipeline alignment sheets from survey coordinates, chainage, levels, profiles, bends, crossings, and tie-in information.
· Ability to interpret engineering mark-ups, survey data, specifications, calculations, and as-built drawings across multiple disciplines.
Education
· Diploma or technical qualification in engineering design, drafting, or a related discipline.
· Relevant AutoCAD training or certification is an advantage.
