Position Summary

MedSciX is seeking experienced Consultant General Practitioners (GPs) with MRCGP certification for four full-time opportunities with a healthcare organization in the Caribbean.

The successful candidates will provide comprehensive primary and general medical care to a diverse patient population. The role requires robust independent clinical judgment, experience managing complex and chronic medical conditions, and the ability to provide high-quality, patient-centered care within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide comprehensive Consultant-level primary and general medical care to adult and pediatric patients.
- Independently assess, diagnose, treat, and manage a broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Manage complex and multi-morbidity cases requiring ongoing clinical assessment and continuity of care.
- Provide long-term management of chronic conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular and respiratory diseases.
- Conduct routine health assessments, physical examinations, preventive screenings, and risk assessments.
- Assess and stabilize patients presenting with urgent medical conditions and coordinate escalation of care when required.
- Order and interpret appropriate laboratory investigations, imaging, and other diagnostic tests.
- Prescribe medications and develop individualized, evidence-based treatment and follow-up plans.
- Identify patients requiring specialist intervention and coordinate appropriate referrals.
- Provide preventive healthcare, health promotion, lifestyle counseling, and patient education.




- Provide clinical guidance and support to other members of the healthcare team, as appropriate.
- Collaborate with specialists, nursing teams, allied health professionals, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with applicable professional, ethical, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in clinical governance, audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing professional development.

Qualifications & Experience

- MBBS/MBChB/MD or equivalent recognized medical qualification.
- MRCGP (Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners) certification – mandatory.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant clinical experience in General Practice/Family Medicine.
- Demonstrated experience in independent management of general practice patients, including complex and chronic cases.
- Current medical registration and good professional standing.
- Eligible and willing to obtain medical registration/licensure in the applicable Caribbean jurisdiction.
- Strong English communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to relocate to the Caribbean.
