Job Summary

At Suresh Drives, we safeguard buyers and sellers by delivering rigorous, transparent pre-purchase and pre-owned vehicle inspections. The Vehicle Inspection Technician is responsible for evaluating new and used vehicles using advanced modern diagnostic tools, specialized scanners, and testing devices. You will verify mechanical integrity, ensure authentic odometer readings, detect hidden accident damage or repaint work, identify fraud, and deliver a detailed evaluation report.

We are actively recruiting qualified technicians in the following districts:

- Ernakulam
- Kozhikode
- Malappuram
- Palakkad
- Kottayam
- Kollam

Key Responsibilities & Duties 1. Mechanical & Functional Inspection

- Perform complete multi-point inspections covering engine performance, transmission, suspension, steering, braking systems, and electrical components.
- Verify proper operation of all interior and exterior functions (HVAC, infotainment, lighting, power windows, safety systems, and sensor arrays).
- Execute controlled road tests to evaluate handling, alignment, shift smoothness, and unusual noise or vibration.

2. Fraud & Odometer Verification

- Perform ECU diagnostics to verify authentic odometer mileage against vehicle modules (ECU, ABS, Transmission Control Module) to detect tampering or rollback.
- Cross-check chassis numbers (VIN), engine numbers, and documentation for match accuracy to prevent stolen or fraudulently registered vehicles from passing inspection.
- Inspect for signs of water inundation (flood-damaged vehicles) and structural frame tampering.

3. Bodywork & Accident Detection

- Use digital Paint Depth / Coating Thickness Gauges to inspect body panels for repainting, body filler (bondo), or aftermarket repair.




- Inspect structural frame rails, pillars, engine bays, and undercarriages for signs of past accidents, welds, frame pulling, or structural rust.
- Identify panel gap inconsistencies and mismatched glass/lamp manufacturing dates.

4. Advanced Diagnostic Tool Operation

- Utilize modern OBD-II diagnostic scanners, battery/charging system testers, thermal imaging cameras, and digital bore scopes.
- Analyze diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and active system parameters to uncover hidden engine or sensor faults.

5. Reporting & Customer Communication

- Compile accurate inspection findings into explicit, structured inspection reports using our tablet/mobile software.
- Capture high-resolution digital photographs and videos documenting faults, frame damage, or cosmetic defects.
- Explain technical findings clearly to managers, clients, or non-technical vehicle buyers when required.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Education: Diploma / ITI / Degree in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience as an auto mechanic, service technician, or vehicle inspector in a reputed dealership or inspection center.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on expertise with OBD diagnostic scanners, digital paint thickness gauges, and battery analyzers.
- Vehicle Knowledge: Deep understanding of multiple vehicle makes, models, engine types (Petrol, Diesel, Hybrid, EV), and mechanical/electrical systems.
- Licensing: Valid driver's license with an clean driving record (ability to test drive all manual and automatic vehicles).

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
