ANJALI MACHINE TOOLS – MILLING MACHINE OPERATOR Position Details Job Title: Milling Machine Operator Department: Production / Tool Room Company: Anjali Machine Tools Industry: Precision Engineering / Tool & Die / Crimping Tool Manufacturing Location: Tathwade, Pune, Maharashtra Employment Type: Full-Time Reports To: Production Supervisor / Tool Room In-Charge Job SummaryThe Milling Machine Operator will be responsible for operating conventional milling machines to manufacture precision components, tools, dies, fixtures, and crimping-tool components as per engineering drawings and required specifications. The operator must be capable of setting up milling machines, selecting appropriate cutting tools, performing machining operations, checking dimensions, and maintaining the required quality and accuracy. Key ResponsibilitiesOperate conventional milling machines safely and efficiently.

Read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and machining requirements. Perform milling, slotting, drilling, facing, pocketing, and other machining operations. Set up jobs, fixtures, cutters, vice, and other tooling according to job requirements.

Select suitable cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining parameters. Manufacture tool-room components, dies, fixtures, and precision machine parts. Perform first-piece inspection and in-process dimensional checks.

Use measuring instruments such as: Vernier caliper Micrometer Height gauge Dial indicator Vernier height gauge Gauges and other inspection instruments Maintain dimensional accuracy and surface-finish requirements. Identify machining defects and make necessary corrections during production. Maintain proper machine settings and ensure machines are operated within specified limits.

Keep machines, tools, fixtures, and the work area clean and organized.



Follow production schedules and complete assigned jobs within the required time. Follow company quality standards and production procedures.

Follow all safety procedures while operating machinery. Report machine problems, tool wear, quality issues, or abnormal conditions to the supervisor. Maintain proper records of production and inspection wherever required.

Coordinate with the tool room, quality, and production teams for smooth job completion. Minimize material wastage, tool breakage, and machine downtime. Support continuous improvement in machining methods, productivity, and quality.

Required

SkillsKnowledge of conventional milling machine operation. Ability to read engineering drawings. Knowledge of machining processes and cutting tools. Basic understanding of tolerances and fits. Knowledge of measuring instruments. Ability to perform precision machining. Good understanding of tool-room practices. Ability to identify machining and dimensional defects. Basic knowledge of machine maintenance. Positive attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

Educational

Qualification 10 th and above. Candidates with relevant practical experience in milling machine operation may also be considered.

Experience Preferred: 1–5 years of experience in milling machine operation, tool room, die manufacturing, precision engineering, or similar manufacturing environment.

Fresh ITI candidates: Can be considered based on practical skills and willingness to learn.

Follow drawing specifications and tolerances. Perform self-inspection of machined components.

Prevent defective parts from moving to the next process. Maintain consistency between batches. Handle precision components carefully. Inform the supervisor immediately about quality deviations.

Safety

ResponsibilitiesWear required PPE while working. Follow machine operating and safety instructions. Keep hands and clothing away from rotating components. Use proper lifting and handling methods. Keep the workplace clean and free from hazards. Do not operate machines without proper authorization or training. Report unsafe conditions immediately.
