1. Perform analysis of all types of microbiological samples as per relevant NABL-approved/accredited test methods, applicable standards, and laboratory SOPs.
2. Perform internal calibration/verifications and ensure proper maintenance of instruments, equipment, and glassware related to the Microbiology Laboratory, in accordance with NABL and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
3. Monitor and supervise the work of microbiologists, ensuring compliance with approved test methods, SOPs, and the laboratory’s NABL quality requirements.
4. Participate in Proficiency Testing (PT), Inter-Laboratory Comparison (ILC), and internal Quality Control (QC) checks for microbiological parameters as per the laboratory’s NABL/ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
5. Follow established microbiological procedures and SOPs for cleaning, testing, environmental monitoring, equipment maintenance, and general housekeeping of the Microbiology Laboratory, ensuring NABL compliance.
6. Handle, maintain, preserve, and monitor reference cultures in accordance with applicable standards, SOPs, and NABL requirements.
7. Develop current test methods and carry out method verification/validation as required, in accordance with applicable standards and ISO/IEC 17025/NABL requirements.
8. Plan, understand,



and complete allocated testing activities within the stipulated time while ensuring accuracy, traceability, and compliance with NABL requirements.
9. Comply with the Laboratory Quality Policy, Quality Objectives, ISO/IEC 17025 requirements, and NABL accreditation requirements.
10. Ensure proper preparation, maintenance, control, storage, and retrieval of quality system documents and technical records in accordance with NABL and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
11. Perform Measurement of Uncertainty (MU) estimation and maintain related records for applicable microbiological testing parameters in accordance with NABL/ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
12. Review and authorize/sign Microbiology Test Reports within the scope of authorization and applicable NABL accreditation requirements.
13. Provide training, competency evaluation, and supervision of trainee/junior microbiologists, and monitor their work to ensure compliance with approved methods, SOPs, and NABL requirements.
14. Participate in NABL assessments, internal audits, corrective actions, and other quality-related activities as assigned.
15. Perform any other specific tasks or additional responsibilities assigned by the management related to the Microbiology Laboratory and NABL quality system.
