Role & responsibilities

Seasonal Buying Plan: Assist in building category and brand buying plans based on sales forecasts, OTB, store capacity, seasonality, target customer and management direction.

1. Store Performance Based Selection: Select merchandise using store grades, climate, catchment, price sensitivity, space, customer profile and historical category and option performance.
2. Product and Range Selection: Support range reviews, line sheets, option counts, size curves, colour mix, newness and price architecture to create a balanced assortment.
3. Order and Merchandise Tracking: Track purchase orders, production, dispatch, inward and launch timelines; escalate delays, shortages, substitutions and quality issues.
4. Buying Performance Review: Measure sales, sell-through, margin, stock cover, ROS, GMROI and ageing against the original buy; document learnings for repeat buys and future seasons.
5. Vendor Management: Maintain vendor records, commercial terms, delivery commitments, quality expectations and compliance documents; support periodic vendor performance reviews.
6. Market and Competition Intelligence: Track fashion trends, competitor assortments, pricing, promotions and emerging labels through store visits, trade events and market research.

Cross-functional Execution: Work with Merchandising, VM, SCM, Finance, Retail Operations, Marketing, IT and Legal to ensure timely onboarding, inwarding and product presentation.

Required Skills

- Commercial eye for fashion, consumer trends, product quality, price architecture and assortment building.
- Working knowledge of retail buying metrics, OTB, margins, sell-through and inventory productivity.
- Strong Excel, analysis, presentation and documentation skills; ERP or retail buying system exposure is preferred.
- Confident communication, vendor coordination and negotiation capability.
- Ability to manage multiple categories, brands and timelines in a fast-growing MBO environment.
- Willingness to travel for buying meetings, store visits, trade shows and vendor reviews when required.

Preferred Candidate A proactive, data-oriented and fashion-aware qualified who combines commercial judgement with disciplined execution. The candidate should be comfortable working across different store formats and markets, taking ownership of follow-ups and adapting quickly as Kapsons expands its brand portfolio and store network.
