Mechanical Design Engineer – Automation Systems

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer – Automation Systems to design and develop advanced automated mechanical systems supporting our UAV platforms.

The role requires strong hands-on expertise in mechanism design, electromechanical systems, precision assemblies, automation, outdoor product design, and production engineering.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop automated mechanical and electromechanical systems for UAV applications.
- Develop precision alignment, positioning, guiding, locking, and retention mechanisms.
- Design automated mechanisms using motors, actuators, lead screws, linear guides, gears, belts, bearings, and sensors.
- Develop structural frames, enclosures, access mechanisms, panels, and moving assemblies.
- Design systems capable of handling variable positioning, mechanical tolerances, repeated operation, and environmental loads.
- Integrate sensors, actuators, electronics, power systems, and mechanical assemblies into a complete product.
- Design for outdoor operation, considering rain, dust, temperature, wind, corrosion, drainage, sealing, and thermal management.
- Perform tolerance stack-up, GD&T;, load calculations, mechanism analysis,



and design validation.
- Conduct prototype development, mechanism testing, reliability testing, failure analysis, and design optimisation.
- Develop designs from concept → CAD → prototype → testing → production.
- Work closely with UAV, Electronics, Embedded Software, Manufacturing, and Product Development teams.

Requirements
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical product design, automation, robotics, industrial machinery, or electromechanical systems.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent.
- Strong experience designing mechanisms, actuated systems, precision assemblies, and structural components.
- Good understanding of motors, actuators, sensors, bearings, linear motion systems, and electromechanical integration.
- Robust knowledge of GD&T;, tolerance stack-up, DFM/DFA, sheet metal, CNC machining, welding, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience designing reliable products for outdoor or harsh environments is preferred.
- Strong hands-on prototyping, troubleshooting, and problem-solving ability.
