Role Description The Mechanical Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad. The individual will design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for road construction machinery, preparing detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and BOMs. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with production, quality, and service teams to refine designs, improve manufacturability, and ensure compliance with relevant standards.

The engineer will perform design calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection, while reviewing prototypes, addressing field feedback, and supporting continuous improvement of existing equipment. The role also involves documentation of design changes, participation in technical reviews,



and close coordination with vendors and internal stakeholders to meet project timelines.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess robust mechanical design skills, including proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) and experience creating detailed engineering drawings and assemblies.
- Candidates should possess solid knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals such as machine design, strength of materials, manufacturing processes, and material selection.
- Candidates should possess experience with industrial or heavy machinery design, preferably in road construction equipment or related sectors (e.g., construction, mining, material handling).
- Candidates should possess skills in design validation, including basic structural calculations, tolerance and fit analysis, and application of relevant standards and safety requirements.
- Candidates should possess good documentation and communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical reports, maintain design records, and coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Candidates should possess problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a focus on manufacturability, reliability, and cost optimization.
- Beneficial qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, experience working with ERP or PLM systems, exposure to fabrication and assembly processes, and familiarity with quality tools such as FMEA or root-cause analysis.
