The center focuses on embedded electronics and systems for connected vehicles, telematics, ADAS, infotainment, EV technologies, controllers, sensors, and advanced lighting to address next-generation automotive needs. CREAT collaborates closely with other MINDA group entities and external technology partners, working across software, hardware, mechanical, and creative design in cockpit electronics, body exterior and safety technologies, creative design and innovation, and product assurance.

Its independent creative design studio, INITIA, delivers industrial and digital design solutions for global automotive customers, including UI/UX and visual design for display-based products. CREAT also drives group-wide innovation and capability building through initiatives like MINDA Tech University, reinforcing UNO MINDA’s vision of self-reliance and technology leadership.

Role Description The Mechanical Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Gurugram, contributing to the design and development of mechanical components and systems for advanced automotive products. This role involves creating and refining mechanical concepts, performing detailed design and machine design calculations, and preparing 3D models and drawings using CAD tools (CATIA & CREO.). The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams in electronics, software,



and industrial design to integrate mechanical solutions into cockpit electronics, safety systems, and other product spaces.

Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing design requirements, ensuring manufacturability and reliability, supporting prototype builds and testing, and incorporating feedback from product assurance and customer stakeholders.

The Mechanical Design

Engineer also helps maintain design documentation, adheres to relevant standards, and contributes to continuous improvement of design processes.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering and Machine Design, with the ability to perform calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection.
- Proficiency in Design Engineering and Product Design for automotive or related industries, including concept generation and detail engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools (e.g., CATIA, CREO ) for 3D modeling and 2D detailing.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and understand integration with electronics, software, and industrial design.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Knowledge of automotive standards, manufacturing processes, and DFM/DFA principles is highly beneficial.
- Experience in prototype development, testing support, and documentation of design changes is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, innovation-driven workplace.
