- Develop accurate 3D CAD models, 2D engineering drawings, assemblies, and detailed design documentation.
- Work on robotics and electromechanical product design, including structural components and mechanical mechanisms.
- Design sheet-metal parts, solid components, enclosures, brackets, fixtures, and 3D-printable components.
- Collaborate with embedded, electronics, manufacturing, and other engineering teams to ensure mechanical designs meet overall system requirements.
- Conduct appropriate simulation, structural analysis, and stress evaluation to verify mechanical integrity and functionality.
- Participate in prototype development, testing, design validation, and iterative improvement.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and design-related issues identified during prototyping, testing, or production.
- Optimize designs for manufacturability, assembly, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Prepare and maintain drawings, revisions, BOM-related design information,
and technical documentation required for manufacturing.Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree / pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Preferred Technical Exposure Candidates with knowledge or practical exposure in the following areas will be preferred:
- Materials selection and basic materials science for mechanical components.
- CAM software and CNC machining processes.
- Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
- Mechanical simulation and stress-analysis tools.
- Rapid prototyping and 3D printing.
- Prototype fabrication and production processes.
- Mechanical integration of motors, actuators, sensors, electronics, and embedded systems.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and Fusion 360 for mechanical design, 3D modelling, and drafting.
- Practical knowledge of:
- Robotics mechanical design
- Sheet-metal design
- Solid-part modelling
- Assembly design
- 3D-printing-oriented design
- Good fundamental knowledge of engineering drawing, GD&T; concepts, and mechanical drafting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to understand design requirements and translate them into manufacturable mechanical solutions.
- Valuable written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.Relevant experience may include internships, academic projects, robotics projects, product-development projects, research work, or hands-on CAD/mechanical design experience.
