Position: Design Engineer – Cabin Structure, Closures, Seating &

- Interior

Experience: 5–8 years in BIW / cabin structure and closures design, with interior or seating exposure

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech Mechanical or Automobile Engineering

About the role

Design the aluminium cabin structure, doors, glazing, interior panels and driver seat of a four-wheel electric cargo vehicle.

Key responsibilities

1. Design an aluminium extrusion cabin frame (6060/6061-T6): door frames, finishers, flange plates and windshield supports.

2. Develop a detachable door frame with half-door or sliding-door concept for ventilation.

3. Design doors, door seals, PC/PMMA glazing, locks, latches and hinges.

4. Design the windscreen seal and mounting (bonded or bolted); package mirrors and the wiper system.

5. Design the floor panel, foot well, dashboard and cabin partition.

6. Design the driver seat (aluminium frame,



PU foam, trim cover) and its mounting.

7. Package the HMI display, switches and driver comfort items.

8. Run door-swing, sealing-gap and driver ergonomics checks (H-point, reach, ingress/egress, visibility); produce 2D drawings.

Skills and tools

1. Aluminium extrusion structures; closure mechanisms; glazing and seals; interior trim; seat frame design; ergonomics (SAE J826 manikin or CATIA Human)
- GD&T.;

- CATIA V5 or Siemens NX part and surface design.

- Preferred: BIW or cabin experience on commercial vehicles.
