Role Overview The Engineer – LWH Maintenance will be responsible for carrying out mechanical maintenance activities for vehicles, with a specific focus on fire vehicles and heavy vehicles. The role will involve preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, safety compliance and ensuring vehicle availability with minimum downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance of mechanical equipment, specifically vehicles.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures to minimize vehicle downtime.
- Ensure proper alignment, balancing, lubrication and calibration of mechanical systems.
- Oversee welding, fabrication and mechanical repair activities as required.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
for recurring mechanical issues and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor vehicle/equipment performance using vibration analysis, thermography, lubrication analysis and other predictive maintenance techniques.
- Assist in developing and maintaining maintenance SOPs and equipment/vehicle history records.
- Execute maintenance activities in compliance with safety standards, statutory regulations and company policies.
- Participate in risk assessments, Permit-to-Work (PTW) processes and safety audits.
- Monitor spare parts and optimize inventory costs while ensuring availability of critical components.
- Support installation, commissioning and testing of new mechanical equipment.
- Coordinate with internal teams and service vendors for repair and maintenance activities.
- Ensure timely completion of maintenance activities and maintain proper documentation.
