About the Role

Abby Lighting is expanding into the Decorative Lighting segment and is looking for a creative and customer-focused Junior Interior Designer – Decorative Lighting to join our showroom team.

The role involves interacting with walk-in clients, understanding their interior spaces, design preferences and lighting requirements, and recommending suitable decorative lighting solutions that complement their space and overall aesthetic.

Key Responsibilities

- Welcome and engage with walk-in customers visiting the showroom.
- Understand customers' requirements, preferences, budget, and interior design needs.
- Recommend suitable decorative lighting fixtures based on the client's space, style, functionality, and ambience requirements.
- Explain different lighting options, designs, finishes, sizes, and applications to customers.
- Assist customers in selecting lighting solutions for residential and commercial spaces.
- Use basic interior-design knowledge to suggest appropriate placement and combinations of decorative lights.
- Understand floor plans, room layouts, and basic dimensions to provide relevant lighting suggestions.




- Prepare basic lighting concepts, mood boards, or presentations when required.
- Coordinate with the sales and design teams to ensure a smooth customer experience.
- Follow up with customers regarding quotations, selections, and requirements.
- Stay updated on current interior-design and decorative-lighting trends.
- Maintain a well-presented and organized showroom.

Skills & Requirements

- Degree/Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of experience; freshers with a strong interest in interior design and lighting may also apply.
- Good understanding of interior spaces, colours, materials, and aesthetics.
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customer-oriented approach with good listening and consultation skills.
- Creative eye for design and attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, or other design software would be an advantage.
- Willingness to learn about decorative lighting products and applications.
- Ability to understand customer requirements and convert them into suitable design recommendations.
