Leap Life Skills

Bengaluru

LEAP Life Skills is a Bengaluru-based organisation delivering structured, JKA-certified karate-based life skills programmes for schools and corporate teams. LEAP treats karate as a life-skills curriculum rather than a sport alone — building confidence, focus, self-discipline and self-defence, with an age-appropriate personal safety module built into every schools programme.

Role: LEAP is hiring full-time, permanent Karate Instructors to deliver its programmes across partner schools and corporate offices in Bengaluru. This is a long-term role for someone looking to build a career with LEAP, not a fixed-term engagement — with room to grow into a senior or lead instructor position as LEAP's programmes expand. LEAP delivers to co-ed schools, corporate teams and women-only safety cohorts across the city.

To do that well, LEAP maintains an instructor team of both men and women, so that every group can be matched with an instructor appropriate to the setting. Male instructors deliver the full range of LEAP's co-ed school and corporate programming, working alongside LEAP's female instructors so every group — including women-only cohorts — is matched appropriately.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver LEAP's structured karate and life-skills curriculum to students (ages 6–18) at partner schools, and to employees at corporate offices, following LEAP's lesson plans and safety protocols.
- Lead sessions with clarity,

discipline and warmth appropriate to the audience — children and teenagers in schools, adults in a workplace setting.
- Track attendance, participant progress, and belt-grading readiness where applicable.
- Maintain LEAP's safety-first standards at every session — no competitive sparring, correct technique supervision, and appropriate group sizes per instructor.
- Represent LEAP professionally at partner sites, building lasting relationships with school staff,

corporate coordinators, parents and participants.
- Support the training and mentoring of newer and part time instructors as LEAP's team grows.
- Contribute to programme quality and curriculum development, drawing on session experience across schools and corporates.

Required Qualifications

- Black Belt (minimum 1st Dan) in Karate, from a recognised style or federation.
- Fluent in spoken and written English — sessions are conducted in English at both schools and corporate offices.
- No prior criminal convictions, and no criminal case currently registered against the candidate.
- Willingness to undergo police verification before an offer is confirmed.
- Based in, or able to relocate to, Bengaluru.
- Available full-time, including some daytime slots at schools and corporate offices.

Preferred

- Prior experience teaching or coaching in a corporate setting.
- Prior experience working with children aged 6–10.

Freshers are welcome to apply — training and delivery support are provided.
