Position Overview

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Junior Industrial Designer to join our product development team in Ahmedabad.The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in industrial/product design, excellent sketching and visualization skills, and an interest in developing consumer appliances and innovative kitchen products.

You will work closely with industrial designers, mechanical engineers, electronics engineers, and other cross-functional teams to take products from concept and ideation through CAD development, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop innovative product concepts through sketching, brainstorming, and design exploration.
- Translate user needs and design requirements into practical product concepts.
- Create multiple design iterations while balancing aesthetics, functionality, ergonomics, and manufacturability.
- Develop detailed 3D CAD models of product concepts.
- Refine product forms, proportions, interfaces, and component integration.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers to ensure designs are technically feasible and production-ready.
- Create high-quality product renders and visualizations to communicate design intent.




- Prepare concept presentations and design documentation for internal and client reviews.
- Develop visual concepts for new products and design iterations.
- Support the development of physical prototypes using methods such as 3D printing, CNC machining, and model-making.
- Participate in prototype evaluation and design validation.
- Identify design issues and incorporate feedback into subsequent iterations.
- Work closely with mechanical, electronics, engineering, and product development teams.
- Support the integration of electronics, controls, displays, buttons, interfaces, and other components into product designs.
- Collaborate with manufacturing partners to address design and production requirements.
- Research emerging product, material, manufacturing, and consumer technology trends.
- Explore new materials, finishes, manufacturing techniques, and technologies relevant to consumer appliances.
- Leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to improve ideation, visualization, research, and design productivity.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Transportation Design, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in Industrial Design or Product Design.
- Robust freehand sketching, ideation, and visualization skills.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD and industrial design software.
- Experience with rendering tools such as KeyShot, V-Ray, or similar software.
- Basic understanding of prototyping techniques, including 3D printing, CNC machining, and traditional model-making.




- Understanding of product form, ergonomics, materials, functionality, and aesthetics.
- Ability to use AI tools to support the design and product development process.
- Strong attention to detail and a practical approach to product development.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating industrial/product design projects is mandatory. Applications without a portfolio will not be considered.

Preferred Skills

- Hands-on experience in consumer products, appliances, kitchen products, or electronic products.
- Understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
- Familiarity with plastics, sheet metal, die casting, injection moulding, CNC, and other manufacturing processes.
- Basic understanding of electronics integration within consumer products.
- Knowledge of materials, finishes, surface development, and manufacturing constraints.
- Understanding of ergonomics and user-centered product design.
- Ability to work with engineering teams to balance design intent, functionality, cost, and manufacturability.
- Knowledge of design-centric and graphical software used in product development.
- Awareness of current trends in consumer products, kitchen appliances, and industrial design.
