Data Scientist — Junior (L3)

Role Overview

We are hiring a Junior Data Scientist to support our data science team in extracting insight from data and building models that drive business decisions. You'll work under the guidance of senior data scientists — assisting with exploratory analysis, building baseline models, and learning production-grade ML practices on real business problems.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify patterns, trends, and data quality issues.
- Assist in data cleaning, feature engineering, and dataset preparation under guidance.
- Build baseline machine learning models (regression, classification, clustering) with senior review.
- Apply basic statistical methods to help answer business questions.
- Create visualizations and summary reports using Matplotlib/Seaborn/Power BI.
- Write clean, reproducible code in Jupyter/notebooks and version-controlled repos (Git).
- Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Learn and apply ML best practices, coding standards, and experiment tracking under mentorship.

Required Skills




- Python — pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn
- Foundational understanding of ML algorithms (regression, classification, clustering)
- Basic statistics and probability
- Basic to intermediate SQL — SELECT, joins, aggregations
- Good communication skills
- Excel/PowerPoint proficiency

Good to Have
- Basic exposure to neural networks / deep learning concepts
- Kaggle competition experience or personal/academic ML projects
- Exposure to visualization tools (Power BI/Tableau)

Education B.Tech / B.Sc / M.Sc in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.

We're looking for candidates who can demonstrate hands-on project experience — not just theoretical knowledge. You should be comfortable explaining a project you've worked on end-to-end: the problem, the approach you took, and what you learned, including things that didn't work as expected.
