Role Description The Junior Counselor is a full-time, in office role based in Mumbai. This role involves meeting and communicating with students and families to understand their academic history, interests, and career aspirations, and providing guidance on suitable courses, countries, and universities.

The Junior

Counselor supports the entire application process, including helping prepare documents, guiding students on essays and statements of purpose, tracking timelines, and coordinating with institutions when required. Daily responsibilities also include maintaining accurate student records, following up on application progress, and assisting with visa documentation and pre-departure guidance.



The role requires close collaboration with senior counselors, adherence to counseling best practices, and a commitment to delivering empathetic, ethical, and student-centered advice.

Qualifications

- Ability to provide academic and career counseling, including assessing student profiles and recommending suitable courses and universities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, families, and institutional representatives.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple applications, deadlines, and follow-ups simultaneously.
- Attention to detail in handling application forms, documentation, and visa-related paperwork.
- Basic knowledge or willingness to learn about international education systems, admission requirements, and standardized tests.
- Proficiency in using office productivity tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets, document editors) and maintaining digital records.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a small, boutique team and adapt to evolving processes and student needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; coursework or experience in education, counseling, psychology, or related fields is an advantage.
- Prior internship or experience in student counseling, education consulting, or customer-facing roles is preferred but not mandatory.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, practicing non-discriminatory counseling, and upholding professional ethics.
