The Lead Electrical Engineer is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering electrical design and integration activities for aerospace systems. This role involves technical leadership,

project management, and team mentoring to ensure that electrical systems and wiring harness designs meet all functional, performance, and certification requirements. The position demands strong technical expertise, communication skills, and the ability to coordinate across disciplines and suppliers.

Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities include the following with other duties as assigned:

Technical Leadership & Design Execution:

- Lead the design and development of aircraft electrical systems, wiring harnesses, and

electrical schematics (EWIS).
- Define system architecture, power distribution strategy, and interface control for

electrical and avionics systems.
- Review and approve electrical design deliverables from engineering teams (2D/3D wiring,

schematics, harness layouts, installation drawings).
- Ensure compliance with aerospace design standards such as AS50881, DO-160, DO-254 and MIL-STD requirements.
- Provide design solutions for system integration, modification, and new platform Development.

Project Management:

- Plan and monitor design activities, schedules,



and deliverables in alignment with program milestones.
- Estimate resource requirements, manage workloads, and track project progress.
- Interface with internal teams (Systems, Mechanical, Certification, Manufacturing) and external stakeholders (suppliers, customers).
- Ensure on-time, high-quality engineering deliverables meeting customer andnairworthiness requirements.

Mentoring & Team Development:

- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior and senior design engineers.
- Conduct design reviews, technical training, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Drive best practices, standardization, and process improvement within the team.

Compliance & Documentation:

- Prepare and validate design documentation including system schematics, interface control documents (ICDs), and BOMs.
- Ensure traceability, configuration control, and documentation accuracy using PLM systems (e.g., JEDAIT, ENOVIA etc.).
- Support certification teams by providing inputs for qualification and verification reports.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

- Work closely with avionics, mechanical, and systems engineers for integrated design solutions.
- Support manufacturing, installation, and test teams during prototype and production phases.
- Participate in design change management, technical reviews, and failure investigations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- Education: B.E./B.Tech or masters in electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering (or

related discipline).
- Experience: 1015 years of relevant experience in electrical design within the aerospace

domain.
- Proven leadership in aircraft wiring, harness design, and system integration.
- Experience in managing multi-disciplinary design teams.

Technical Competencies:

a.



Proficiency in CATIA V5 Electrical / AutoCAD Electrical or similar tools.

b. Strong understanding of aerospace electrical standards (AS50881, MIL-W-5088, ARINC, DO-160, DO-254).

c. Familiarity with aircraft power systems, avionic integration, and EMI/EMC design principles.

d. Experience with PLM systems (JEDAIT, ARAS, ENOVIA) and change management processes.

e. Understanding of aircraft certification processes (EASA CS-25/FAA Part 25)

f. Seat electrical design and seat-to-aircraft interface experience is preferred

Soft Skills:

a. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

b. Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.

c. Capability to manage teams, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

d. Customer-facing experience and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

a. Experience in new product development (NPD) or aircraft modification programs.

b. Exposure to electrical load analysis tools.

c. Knowledge of electrical system safety, redundancy, and fault analysis (FMEA/FTA).

d. Prior experience in managing global design teams or suppliers.
