/n IT Executive – Hardware, Networking & IT Support /n Department: Information Technology /n Location: Barasat / Madhyamgram, Kolkata /n Employment Type: Full-Time /n Experience: 1–4 Years /n /n About the Role /n We are looking for a technically skilled and responsible IT Executive to manage day-to-day IT infrastructure, hardware, networking, system support, and troubleshooting across the organization‘s campuses and offices. /n The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of computers, networking infrastructure, internet connectivity, CCTV, biometric systems, printers, servers, and other IT-enabled systems. /n Key Responsibilities /n 1. Hardware & System Support /n /n
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, projectors, and other IT equipment.
/n
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues within defined timelines.
/n
- Perform regular preventive maintenance of IT assets.
/n
- Maintain proper records of IT equipment, repairs, replacements, and service history.
/n
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware repair, replacement, warranty, and AMC-related matters.
/n /n 2. Network & Internet Management /n /n
- Monitor and maintain LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, routers, switches, access points, and other networking equipment.
/n
- Troubleshoot network connectivity, internet, and Wi-Fi-related issues.
/n
- Coordinate with Internet Service Providers and networking vendors for service-related problems.
/n
- Configure and maintain routers, switches, and access points as required.
/n
- Monitor network performance and identify recurring connectivity issues.
/n
- Ensure proper network access and connectivity across classrooms, offices, laboratories, and other facilities.
/n /n 3. IT Infrastructure & Security /n /n
- Maintain IT infrastructure across different campuses and administrative offices.
/n
- Ensure basic IT security practices, including password management, access control, antivirus, system updates, and backup procedures.
/n
- Monitor and maintain CCTV, biometric attendance, access-control systems, and other technology-enabled security systems.
/n
- Assist in identifying and resolving unauthorized device or network access issues.
/n /n 4. Software & Application Support /n /n
- Install and configure operating systems, applications, drivers, and required software.
/n
- Provide technical support to employees, faculty members, and administrative staff.
/n
- Troubleshoot issues related to official email, online applications, cloud-based platforms, and other institutional software.
/n
- Assist users with basic IT-related queries and provide timely resolution.
/n /n 5. IT Asset Management /n /n
- Maintain an updated IT Asset Register covering computers, laptops, printers, networking equipment, CCTV equipment, biometric devices, and other IT assets.
/n
- Track asset allocation, movement, repair, replacement, and disposal.
/n
- Conduct periodic physical verification of IT assets.
/n
- Report damaged, missing, obsolete, or non-functional equipment to the management.
/n /n 6. Maintenance & Vendor Coordination /n /n
- Coordinate with AMC/service providers for timely maintenance and repair of IT infrastructure.
/n
- Maintain records of service calls, complaints, downtime, and resolution status.
/n
- Follow up with vendors until issues are completely resolved.
/n
- Verify service completion before closing maintenance requests.
/n /n 7. Backup & Data Management /n /n
- Assist in maintaining regular backups of important institutional data.
/n
- Monitor backup status and report any failure or data-access issue immediately.
/n
- Follow organizational guidelines regarding data security and confidentiality.
/n /n 8. MIS & Reporting /n /n
- Prepare regular IT status reports for management.
/n
- Maintain records of complaints, resolutions, downtime, maintenance, and pending issues.
/n
- Provide daily/weekly reports as required by the reporting authority.
/n
- Maintain proper documentation of all IT-related activities.
/n /n Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) /n /n
- Timely resolution of IT support tickets and technical complaints.
/n
- Network and internet uptime.
/n
- Timely preventive maintenance of IT infrastructure.
/n
- Accuracy and regular updating of IT asset registers.
/n
- Timely coordination and follow-up with service providers.
/n
- Reduction in recurring technical issues and downtime.
/n
- Proper maintenance of IT documentation and reports.
/n
- User satisfaction with IT support services.
/n /n Required Qualifications /n /n
- Bachelor‘s/Diploma degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Applications, Electronics, or a related field.
/n
- Relevant IT certifications will be an added advantage.
/n /n Required Skills /n /n
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware and troubleshooting.
/n
- Good understanding of LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, routers, and switches.
/n
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems and common business applications.
/n
- Basic understanding of IT security and data backup.
/n
- Knowledge of CCTV and biometric systems will be an advantage.
/n
- Good vendor coordination and follow-up skills.
/n
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
/n
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
/n
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple technical issues simultaneously.
/n /n Preferred Experience /n /n
- 1–4 years of experience in IT support, hardware, networking, or infrastructure management.
/n
- Experience in an educational institution, corporate office, hospital, or multi-location organization will be preferred.
/n /n Working Requirements /n /n
- Willingness to travel between institutional campuses/offices whenever required.
/n
- Ability to respond to urgent technical issues when required.
/n
- Ability to work under deadlines and maintain proper documentation.
/n
- Solid sense of responsibility, confidentiality, and service orientation.
